AGM cup up and running
« on: December 02, 2010, 09:37:13 PM »

Mansfield locked out of field Mill Stadium, might have to look to play games elsewhere or risk the wrath of the bsp if they cant fullfill fixtures. Kettering towns full squad up for sale, and an announcement on the ground lease and future of the club expected by mr ladaak before christmas.

Plymouth have not paid the wages of players for a month and the inland revenue have applied to the courts to wind em up.

We live in hope.  There's also one of the Sugar Daddy'd teams having their backers go - like Gretna a few years back.

Keep the faith.

The Gretna issue is a bit different to be fair.

Brooks Mileson put lots of money into Non League Football over a long period with virtually no tangible fiscal return.

His departure from Gretna, I believe, was due mainly to the fact that he was dying which I would imagine was not a matter in which he had a great deal of choice

It shows just how unsustainable and dangerous it is though, even when the owner actually cares. Your man at Gateshead seems the same type, but Gretna proves it can all go wrong very quickly.

if you build anything on one foundation, one root to sustain it eventually it will wither. It's natural.

that's what was so cool about Mr. Goodwin - he knew that.

The point is that if you have one benefactor & a huge wage bill, and that benefactor disappears (his was health issues), then it goes very very quickly downhill.

Perhaps the Mansfield Town stadium owner heard a rumour that Westlife were threatening to return and, therefore, swiftly took this wise action to prevent them gaining access to the ground?

Ilkeston only holds 3,000 as far as i can remember?? We play them in a few weeks,i am guessing it will be all ticket and we will get a very small allocation.Even if masses dont make the short trip from mansfield im sure local interest will see a number of sell outs,i think mansfield have well in excess of 1000 season ticket holders for starters!
