Altrincham FC First Team / Merry Christmas

May I wish everyone associated with the club  a very happy Christmas and every success - not least on Boxing Day for starters - for the year to come!

Altrincham FC First Team / That'll ruin Valentines
« on: December 03, 2019, 05:27:42 PM »
Spend Valentines night with your loved one (or even the wife) or with Gazza!

Or, "I'm taking you out for a treat on Valentine's darling!"

I am sure it is a case of this being maybe the only available date to get Gazza, but what a date to get him! LOL

Altrincham FC First Team / Comparison
« on: November 30, 2019, 11:28:37 PM »
The last time we got to the 2nd round this was the team:
Deasy: Sinnot, Leather, Heathcote, Griffin: Lawrie, Richman, Moult, Crowther: Rankine, Reeves
Subs: Clee, Bowerman, Swift, Cain, Williams, Davis, Stouppus

Today: 1. Tony THOMPSON, 2. Shaun DENSMORE, 3. Andy WHITE, 4. James JONES, 5. Tom HANNIGAN, 6. Jake MOULT (c), 7. John JOHNSTON, 8. Sean WILLIAMS, 9. Jordan HULME, 10. Josh HANCOCK, 11. Tom PEERS. Subs: 12. Max HARROP, 14. Connor HAMPSON, 15. Toby MULLARKEY, 16. Simon RICHMAN, 20. Joel TORRANCE (gk).

I think in every position we are better now, notably a much stronger subs bench.

We are in decent shape, are we not?

Altrincham FC First Team / Cuter
« on: September 20, 2019, 11:28:21 PM »
From JL's always excellent site:
"The Telegraph & Argus informs us that "Bradford (Park Avenue) assistant manager Lee Fowler has urged his players to be 'cuter' ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup Second Qualifying Round clash at home to Morpeth Town."

Maybe they should dress up as kittens!

Altrincham FC First Team / Youths

A hearty performance in an exciting match, but went out to Curzon on pens despite a couple of good saves from our 'keeper

Altrincham FC First Team / Drench and Hannigan
« on: August 24, 2019, 09:45:25 PM »
I have a concern with Drench's injury: might it be related to that which kept him out for so long last season?

As for Hannigan's injury/suspension; it concerns me that we have no cover at centre half with Moult still out. Who would cover that position if we lose another centre half?

Altrincham FC First Team / 12th man
« on: August 14, 2019, 09:21:30 AM »
The game changer for me was the fans on the Pop side in the 2nd half. 15 mins of "Come on Alty!" just seemed to give the players an extra bit of energy and, with that, cohesion. I saw one of the group in Tesco afterward and, of course, that was the plan.
Well done for doing that!

Altrincham FC First Team / Excellent season
« on: May 05, 2019, 07:21:50 PM »
If, at the start of the season, someone had told me we would be fighting so well in the play-offs, I would have thought they were intensely optimistic!

PP, his team and the players have been immense and, supported by the board, have exceeded certainly my expectations.

My congratulations to all involved - not least the magnificent support - on an excellent league season.
