Protestors at Walsall...

Not Alty related but a bit shocking none the less.

The Walsall chairman apparently spents a lto of time in Spain and the fans don't think he running the club very well.

So they made a banner...and got banned!!

Walsall have 100 full-time and 200 part-time employees. How on earth do they manage that? They must have a budget bigger than Crawley's.

Man U don't have a budget bigger than Crawleys and, by amazing coincidence, also have protest banners.

Revelationary idea, but why don't they simply open discussions and have a forum the way we do at Alty rather than completely alienating fans?

That is a very saunders-esque quote though.

“We have about 200 people who rely on the club for their income. We have about 100 full-time employees and 200 part-time, we are a big employer in the town."

Thats 300, surely?

Can afford to get rid of the 100 that don't rely on it for their income then.

200 part is 200 x 0.5 = 100?

Knowing nothing about walsall apart from they moved from a dump of a stadium as a crappy failing 4th division rubbish team to the very nice bescot right next to jtn 8 M6/M5 my first impression was that walsall are doing brilliantly....not followed their recent results but assume they have to still be run on a sensible budget.

Reading through those posts though, I'm not sure if the fans have a point or have too high aspirations....like us they will have to sell players for a pittance and then it is annoying to see the resultant loss of form combined with players sold suddenly appearing at a higher level and worth a lot more than they were sold for.....

One thing is clear....crowds are dwindling and this guy has no idea how to engage with the fans who are left.....maybe he needs to chat with geoff goodwin and find out what good old honesty and reality check can do.

I'm kind of relaxed about all this.  It's his club (legally if not morally) and if he wants to stop people who care & who PAY then he can cut his own throat if he really wants to.

What it will gain for him: Nothing. Zilch.

What the protestors will gain: media coverage, discussions, support form other clubs alienated fans.
