Title: Alty Ladies
Post by: Mallorca Alty on October 28, 2013, 10:36:40 AM
Had an excellent 2-1 win against Crewe Alex yesterday. Crewe had previously scored 34 goals and conceded only 1 goal in winning their first 5 games of the season. But an excellent team performance from Alty with goals from Tracey Blanchard-Webb and 91st minute winner from Nat Thornley sealed a victory which puts them 4th place, 3 pts behind the leaders Warrington Wolverines.

Cheshire Women's League Divison2 Table (top)

                                                          P  Pts  Gd
1 Warrington Wolverines                    7   18   +36
2 Wilmslow Town                               7   18   +18
3 Crewe Alex                                     6   15   +33
4 Altrincham                                      6   15   +12

Been to see Alty Ladies a couple of times this season. Must say, Tracey Blanchard-Webb is a joy to watch! She is absolutely quality even though she is 40 years old. Ex Man City I hear. Nat Thornley is a childhood friend of mine, she is also a quality player. If you've got nothing to do on a Sunday afternoon then get down and check them out.

I'd like to see us have one of them 3g pitches so that we could have football weekends with the youth and ladies playing after and before the first team with the bar open all day.....I'm sure a lot would wander down early/stay late and it would be good for the youth to play at moss lane and always nice to see the ladies obviously...

If Man U aren't going to play at Moss Lane The JD Stadium then I'd like to see this.

I don't know if I'd be a fan of an artificial pitch at ML. It's grass or nothing for me.

I'm with you 100% on this one.

new 3g pitches are virtually identical to the real thing...sliding tackles and no silly bounces....

have a watch of this and imagine the possibilities of being able to use a pitch 24/7 without worrying about postponements of big xmas fixtures etc.....

Getting back to the original thread

I might be a bit biased, seeing as I am now part of the Ladies Team Management Group but I have to say that every single player who has played for us has shown great dedication and effort as well as no little skill. The performances this season have been extraordinary with last Sundays defeat of the previously unbeaten Crewe Alex Development Squad arguably as good a team/squad performance as I have seen.

Due to injury and University commitments there are a couple yet to play this season but their effort and ability in training has been excellent.

Please, if you are able, come and support the Ladies. The fixtures are on the website

Thanks

Ladies won 4-2 away at Whitchurch Alport today. Now played 10, won 9 in all competitions this season and fourth in the League (Joint second in terms of points but with an inferior goal difference)

Another 3 for Tracey Blanchard Webb - 22 for the season and one from Nat Thornley.

Not our best performance but another win

Thanks to Ian Langford and Ray Sant for travelling somwhat different distances to support the Ladies today - hugely appreciated by all playing and coaching staff

Next game is Sunday December 8th v Macclesfield in the Cheshire County FA Ladies Cup, I have no doubt that details will apear on the official site

Perhaps it is an opportune time to order a 'Hating Macclesfield Ladies since 1903' flag. :o

Well done Alty Ladies for bringing some cheers to an otherwise gloomy weekend.

I enjoyed watching the ladies play yesterday they ran out worthy winners after a stuttery start on a difficult pitch which hadn't seen a mower for sometime. The team played some decent stuff once they mastered the conditions.  Good effort.  :D

The girls had a  right winger who came on for the last 20 mins who was fast, had good energy levels and scored a goal. Hope you read this post Jnr Smikle, I was delighted when we signed you. You owe us a display like you did week in week out for Kiddy
