What on earth makes you suggest that ecky?.......I think we should give this man the benefit of the doubt and not instantly assume he is yet another tycoon property meglomaniacs who takes over football clubs with big speeches of premiership football within 5 years....

London-based property tycoon Baron Bloom says he has submitted a second proposal to take over Blue Square Bet North club Workington Reds.

It is his experience in dealing with property in Cumbria that alerted him to the potential of a deal with Workington.

"I know they used to be a league club, and as a 37-year-old, ambitious man, I want to take the club back into the league, but I know it's not a five minute job."

and he sounds a thoroughly decent chap and will easily fulfil the fit and proper person test;

said after his court case for indecdent assault against a schoolgirl;

Even his defence counsel, Mr Clegg, admitted in court that there was little to like about his client.

He told the jury: "I don't expect any of you to like Bloom.

If I was in a competition to make him sound an attractive and pleasant person I would lose."

Contrasting views on their forum......

I know people will say Plymouth, Gretna etc but also look at Crawley and Fleetwood as good examples. Its easy to say in 5 years he will leave and the club and we will be nackered but in 5 years where we will be anyway
. I dont know the fella and I know people will google his past etc and ive heard negative things and it does seem a bit dodgy but maybe heavy investment by someone is Reds last chance to ever make it conference/ have new stand etc. I for one would take a a risk on success with a business man in the future than die with crowds of 250 in 5-10 years in Evostick

But on another thread they seem to think the plan by their current board is to get relegated so they don't have to pay for overnight trips....
