Altrincham v Stafford - Should be Close ?
« on: March 26, 2007, 10:06:25 AM »

13 ALTRINCHAM P39 W12 D11 L16 F46 A56 GD-10 PTS47
15 STAFFORD RANGERS P38 W12 D9 L17 F43 A58 GD-15 PTS45

Very Similair records, just hope we can get at least a draw. Certainly would take 4pts from the games against Stafford and Stevenage.

They are also on a good run and have only lost 2 of the last 6. Won 2 Lost 2 Drawn 2

Gary You Seemed Very Worried :)

Stafford maybe on a good run but Alty are as well. The players now seem to have the belief that we can win games now and tomorrows night’s game is no different.

Three nil home win, trust me :)

I had a feeling we'd spank Cambridge a few weeks back, but this one certainly won't be a spanking. Traditionally our games with stafford have been extremely tight affairs and to be honest it's a case of first goal wins it. Let's hope it's us. A 1-0 win would probably keep us up and certainly win GH the manager of the month award. Perhaps then we can all start enjoying football again.

Manager of the Month might then lead to a few defeats afterwards. The dreaded curse of MOM

A draw tomorrow night would be perfectly ok. Stafford are tight at the back and can score goals freely if given the chance. I will go for a 1-0 to Alty with Little grabbing the all important goal.

Would it matter though?

Would the result matter? Definitely! We are not safe yet and the psychological boost of beating one of our closest relegation rivals would be immense.

The team and management have done amazingly well but there is still lots to be done, make no mistake.

We can do it, keep up the great work lads!

Stafford should be just as knackered as we are given their PART TIME status, so in that respect it will be more of a level playing field. We should see less of the pacy breaks we did against Grays anyway.

Tough one to call. A draw would not be a disaster now - given recent results - but it would be a disappointment given the form we are in. Stafford are on a decent run - we are on the best run in the league.

A real push from the lads tomorrow and we are almost there and as another poster has said, we can start to enjoy the football again as can the players (not that the last few weeks haven't been AMAZINGLY ENJOYABLE!)  ;D

What is this 'enjoy'? Does not compute.

As Alty fans we are not supposed to enjoy football, it should be full of worry and grief ;)  :D

Awful 0-0 for me tomorrow...nothing happens whatsoever.

Att is 901 with 90 from Stafford.

I'm expecting an awful game. It's like whenever we play Tamworth you know it's going to be a crap game. I think us and Stafford will cancel each other out, so it'll be long balls all over the place with little or no goal attempts.

Will be extremely close but think we will get beat. The last six matches, we've been playing fantastic full time opposition and the lads must be knackered. Been showing real passion and playing their hearts out. Think tomorrow will be one match too far. Grayson scores alot of goals and I think Madjo's pace will trouble us alot so expecting a loss. Hope I'm wrong!

My parents in law live in stafford so read their local SAM.

Apparently they have no forwards available and are knackered as we are.

Will be close but we should edge it - at least I hope we will.
