After years of annoyance that you couldn't access altyfans.co.uk without the www, I contacted the ISP who replied:

Thank you for your enquiry. It looks as though there may have been an issue with the initial setup. This issue has now been resolved and your website should be available without the www. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused by this.

Sounds like incredibly lax security that allows a forum user to make changes to the way a forum is setup.

No one has made me aware of anything that annoyed them on the forum ?, and if they do I usually try and sort it ASAP. Always looking at ways to improve, as I hope the site has over the past 10ish years

This was something I didn't even notice, never mind knowing  it annoyed someone ?

Also am a little concerned that someone can change the setup of the forum, for all they knew I may have had this set up for a reason (not that I have)

If anyone has issues with the forum I would prefer they posted on here or emailed me.

it's pee'd me off for a long period of time too but its not something i ever felt needed me to hassly gary about!

its not that large a flaw in freeola's service, the www sub domain should be tied to the domain with or without it as standard anyway so for them to change it aint such an issue, if i emailled them asking for backdoor passwords and they gave me them then it would be an issue!

Gary if you have an issue with this I would drop freeola an email and complain. see what you can get out of them for free

Sorry, Gaz - wasn't a complaint, more annoying that I forgot to type the www every time, than anything annoying about the site.

I knew it was a setting that simply needed changing so I was contacting the ISP so I could pass on to you what needed doing. Seems they saw it as an oversight in the initial set up and changed it themselves. Didn't mean to by-pass you in any way.

Use google chrome and it comes up when you get to the "alt"  after the first visit...or "alty" if you frequent the official site too
