Fancy a fleetwood at home and the obligatory behind closed doors Huddersfield away

Username of 'strong summer needed'.

We seem to be in crisis every summer judging by the forum - we know targets are being identified and internal conversations will be happening with our players as we speak.

Let's just be glad we're not in Morecambe's position; they'll probably be assuming their natural level alongside us the season after next.

We’ll need a strong summer every year we continue relying on loan players

Thats the world we inhabit and without them i suspect we'd have been in deep trouble last year.  Try before you buy and a chance to get quality Maxi / CCC tha you otherwise wouldnt get.

Make it an unusual colour or combination of colours

I'm sure some of our players are on 2yr contracts therefore retained includes some of these.
I'm happy with that, goodson probably is a hot prospect but like Berry when he went to macc will batter it lower down the league.  A costly way to hold on to a player in case they make it, i suspect we dont have that sort of cash

Has Harrogate issued it's retained list yet? If not, we might be looking at MWH?
I think this too, or could we get senior back from carlisle

No, we can take them and then again in the playoffs

Wasn't there talk of the pitch being flipped 90 degrees at one point?

On the face of it, makes sense - would give us room to have deeper stands running down each length of the pitch, and would probably just about miss the telecommunications mast - but it would go quite far into the allotment, and obviously they're under no obligation to sell.
yes this is my plan but requires a big euromillions win.  Some concern about buying up the allotments, the new houses make this difficult.
I suspect we would have to go out of town to build from scratch, how about just off the new M56 junction, plenty of space

Thats a fairly detailed prediction for the game?  worth a bet

I recall going round to the area which is now the family stand when he had said he was leaving, someone near him asked why he was leaving.  He didnt say much apart from " Its not about me, there will always be an altrincham"

I'd suspect there are 2 or three players who if they dont get the move they want will suddenly become available on Wednesday (1st feb).  The profile would be young , with potential to sell on, possibly previously injured or just fallen short.  See colclough, smith, jones etc

I dont agree re Byrne.  He is very young as has the potential to get better and better.  This very same team with a couple of other players just went 10 unbeaten.

John Laidlers league table is the key, we have done very well against teams below us but dont win against the top 10.  This looks ominous for the next month but should be ok in the long run.  We need to accept at the moment we are just about a bottom half team.  Full time football has not been bankrolled and i dont think the money is there to keep those top players, plus if they want to join us to be in the shop window for football league preventing anyone from moving really scuppers the plan.  I suspect we will see loan players or previously loaned players join in the next few weeks to fill.  Feels like the plans to progress fall on next year or the year after.  Any talk of playoffs as we offload strong players is daft though
