I think Alty can win this game. But getting back in the BSP is more important.

we have to believe this is a winnable game.  Gut feel is we do them in a replay.

Personally really hacked off as cannot go, whereas for a home game I was able to.

As I said with the first two FA Cup games, would be delighted with a draw.

One oddity is that this means we'll be playing five away games in a row

5 away in a row is nothing!! Shildon were drawn away in 17 consecutive games in the FA Vase - a run stretching over 5 years.
We are confident that this is some sort of record.
Back to your game against Boston though - a winnable game and first round proper is beckoning I think ;D ;D

Fair play bonz you must be a decent side to have that many away games in vase in only 5 years and also unlucky

a cup run could be crucial to that end.....give me an easy 1st round then go out vailiantly in a plum tie away at a big league one side so that injuries/fixture pile up and players minds going off the job is not a problem.

then a trophy run to the semi.....

then win the play offs....

Will try and get Hartlepool away for you in the 1st round proper.  Short trip for you.

Sorry Knutty I'll be in Hamburg watching Hamburg- Bayern Munich on the day of the 1st round. My mate's mate is a journo with De Bild- think we're getting really good seats as a freebie.
Hope you do get Hartlepool though if you beat Boston - you'll beat them!!

Maybe a coincidence, but this season is the first time I've not had the pleasure of watching any FAC ties involving Alty and look where it has got us - maybe I should be paid for staying away from FAC games  ;)

As it happens, I'm also away on Saturday 20th so looking forward to us progressing onwards...........

As been said, not the greatest but winnable game. Were unlucky to not win there last season. And means we will definately be playing at Moss Lane on 23rd, be it a replay or Workington.
Unless we get a definite result, and Workington draw with Mansfield.

As has been said, not a great draw but could have been worse.

An interesting point made on thier forum though that Lincolnshire police may wish to have a say to avoid headaches given that Grimsby are at home to Kidderminster and Lincoln are at home to Chester or Halifax on the same day.

It shouldn't matter but you know what they're like.

Also fair play to the chap on there who remembers the racist abuse Leroy Chambers got. Good to hear that apparently most of them were to do with Steve Evans and now appear to have disappeared. Good to hear.

Last point is that they're a club of simiilar staure and history to us. And I'm fairly certain we're due a successful cup or trophy day out there after some bitter disappointments in the past.

See if we can bring back Brady and McKenna for this one!

Bonz mate, Hartlepool were the first league club I ever saw Alty beat in the FA Cup. My first season of watching Alty so I'm saying 71-72. I clearly remember my dad telling me we could beat Hartlepool and being so excited.  I can still remember the game now, only 10 at the time. Bit of bother with a Pools fan chucking a rock at the main stand windows while being chased around the ground.. The hole remained for  some years. We won 2-0 and for me that was the beginning of our reputation as cup fighters and the beginning of our years as the best non-league side in the country.

One of my early away matches was the season before when 2 down and winning 3-2 Martin baker on score sheet a quality player such a pity career cut short

Both sides will think this is a winnable tie and rightly so.

Looking at their home results this season I see (like us) they demolished Histon and far more impressively beat Chester 3-2.

However, they have also given Hinckley their only league win all season at York Street and lost to lower mid table Workington.

I think it's fair to say looking at the defensive records on show there could well be goals at both ends.

I like the feel of a draw and winning the replay at Moss Lane though.

Given all the Conference National sides in he draw it could have been far far worse to be fair.

Hoping I've got a quiet Saturday work-wise as I'd love to drive up for this one!

It's a tough draw but it's winnable and that's what the FA Cup is all about. We can do this!
