Why not?
Surely it's better to have a club owned and financed by the supporters than one that is just the play thing of some rich billionaire or as an investment vehicle for fat cats with no real interest in the club?

What is it that Ebbsfleet have done wrong other than being over optimistic about how successful that model of ownership is ever going to be?

I'd rather all clubs were run their way than the Crawley way.

Even Kingy has cited Gerry Casey as the hardest man he ever encountered in football.

"Six foot two,Eyes of Blue, Gerry Casey's after you, na na na na ...." etc
Still one of my favourite ever chants.

I'll second that, the Daily Mail makes my blood boil whenever I get near a copy

Yep. Credit to the management for taking action and getting a result.

Could do with the odd 1-0 or 2-0 win though. We clearly have players who can get goals, we just need to get a bit more solid at the back. Hopefully the loan players can help to bring that as they settle in.

Good for the team to get the result after letting them get back to 2-2. Shows good spirit.

Good luck, Robbie. I'm sure you'll do a great job at Marine.

Great servant to the club and a proper captain and leader on the pitch.

It was bad enough watching it. Not sure I can bear to re-live it through the commentary. Any chance of replaying a game we played well in?  ;)

We are hoping to record commentaries from now on & then replay them.....so hopefully your wish will be granted soon!

Thanks Brian. I'm sure the commentary was of a much higher standard than the football it was describing.

Look forward to listening again and again in the future.

Sound like a straightforward win.
Good to get a clean sheet and could have been more goals.

Thanks again to the Radio Robins team.

Yep.
Not good to listen to in terms of the teams performance but thanks again to all at Radio Robins for the fantastic job you did.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Most away fans at moss lane ever?
« on: October 15, 2011, 01:45:36 PM »
Big Crowds indeed back in the 60s

Back then Wigan used to play at Springfield Park if memory serves me well.

They played at Springfield Park until the 90s. They were certainly still there when they got promoted in the 70s.

I remember them bringing a lot of fans to Moss Lane in the NPL games in the 70s. They always outnumbered us from what I remember. Or maybe it just seemed that way..
