Ray was a friend of my family for many years.  I remember him and Jean from when I was a young Alty fan.  He served Alty through some very good years.  RIP Ray and condolences to his family.

I have also known Ray for many years in his role as a director at Alty, and also from the Chapel House Inn, Mobberley where he was a regular many years ago. More recently he took great joy along with his wife Jean in watching his Grandson play football at Unicorn when I was manager of the team. I still remember his grandson scoring two goals in the cup final to help us win the game, and the delight of his mum and Ray and Jean. He still is one of the fastest players I have managed in my time as a Junior Football Manager.

I know Ray in particular had a deep love of football at all levels and it was great to see him enjoying the games. My deepest sympathy goes to Jean, Jane and the lads in particular, if you read this I am thinking of you all as you read.

Ray, it was a pleasure to have known you.  God bless you and I am so sorry.

Altho i didn't know him personally (but probably met him) Ray Twist was a name synonimous with Altrincham Football Club as i was growing up. As said elsewhere he served us loyally through some of our finest hours and played his part in the joys we have shared. The kind of local businessman who supported the local club that football in this country was built on and by and large we lack so much now. R.I.P. Ray.

I remember Ray from when I sold programmes outside Moss Lane in the early 70's.
A friendly and genuine guy with no aires and graces. Always had a friendly word and smile for the kids.RIP

Part of a great board that lay the foundations for so many of our achievements.
Tonites win should be dedicated to him.

Sorry,

Thought it may have been already posted and huge apologies for the lateness (fully understand and empathise if people can't make it)

Ray's funeral is at 2pm at the Crem on Tuesday December 1st

I would hope that there would be some commemoration of his contribution to the Club, if not at the Barrow match then on December 19th
