Altrincham FC First Team / Listening to Radio Robins via an Android device
« on: November 30, 2012, 10:19:55 PM »
I have been asked to look into this as there are several Alty fans who would like to listen to Radio Robins on their Android based phones & tablet PCs.
The following instructions aren't as complicated they look
- On the Android device, download and install the Shoutcast Client app from the Google Play store (free)
Setting up the Shoutcast app for Radio Robins can be done anytime - a broadcast does not have to be in progress.
- Go to www.radiorobins.com
- Select and hold down the Direct Shoutcast Link Click Here, then choose Open
- A file called listen.pls will be downloaded
- Select that and open it with the Shoutcast Client when prompted
- The address http://176.31.101.181:8116/ will now be shown as an available station.
This routine only has to be done once.
When Radio Robins is broadcasting...
- Start up the Shoutcast Client app,
- Choose the RR address
- Start
- Enjoy the match
I successfully tested this during the last match and it worked well on both wireless and 3G mobile internet connections.
Hope this helps someone. Any questions, please ask.
Paul
