Mutual termination of contract
-
Didn't work out. Going back sometimes goes that way. Quality in his short time with us. Given we can't score he's worth a look for next year.
-
Not for me . We are in a league higher and all though I do accept he can find the back of the net, he does now struggle to do 90 mins
-
Nah, he went on twitter to bleat about being dropped vs Torquay and didn't play for them again.
-
More of a number 10 than a wide player or number 9 .Is he better than Hancock or the wide players ?
-
He is better than all our number 9 options.
-
Quality for us but not currently needed.
Colclough, Kossy and Hanks are better. Hardy has bags of talent and potential for the number 10 position aswell.
Durrell is ageing and the amount we would need to pay him will need to go towards a top striker.
-
I know you can't dismiss the goals he scored for us but at the same time he looked lazy to me. Perhaps age was catching up with him even then.
-
Bottom line, he's not a number nine and that's what we need.
Also he's not as good as the players we have in the other forward slots.
So it's thanks for your help in the play offs but, like Jordan Hulme, for me a return is not in anyone's best interests.

I agree with the above apart from "like Jordan Hulme". He wants full time, and we could offer him that. For all I was not a little angry at the timing of his departure, I'd have him back, simply because he's substantially better than anyone we've had since he went.

We could have offered Hulme FT contract for this year; I'd imagine PP's deal wasn't just thrown together - especially the number of defeat we had in the run up.
It felt we just rolled over and let a key player go, with no plan B. When JJ left we had craig come in.

Every player has his price, and I trust that we got the right amount for him.
Who's to say the money didn't go toward the signing of Colclough?

We could not offer the money Hulme wanted and there is the aspect of division in the squad if one player is on so much more money than the rest of the squad. This was a major consideration.

It’s a little unfair to hear people call him lazy. He knows how to conserve his energy for when it’s needed. I think he’s a great player that could be a good impact sub at our level.
Currently though I don’t think he fills any gaps that we have. I’m going to go out on a limb and be brave and be the first fan to say that we need an out and out striker.
-
Going to stick my neck out but Chris senior could be of use If we could just track him down
-
We've continued to shoehorn Tom Peers in to our side on the wing at times, or upfront. Williams is a passenger. And Durell is better than Richman
Get Durell back even just for a short period if it means moving lads that aren't good enough on.
-
Durrell is better than Richman ? They're hardly the same type of player ! You might as well say "Thompson is better than Peers". Mind you, if we tried playing him up front it might be nearer the truth than first appears.

Richman if we're going to keep putting him on the bench, he's a footballer so is durrel.
One is more likely to score a goal.

Given the number of times I've seen Tony put a goal kick out of play I wouldn't bet on him being able to hit the proverbial barn door if we did put him up front.
-
Bring him back, his goals last season led to us being promoted. What are we short of now, GOALS
-
He's scored two goals in 26 games for Wrexham this season.

He's been playing in some odd roles, sweeping midfielder etc

He’s playing for us now at full back after a trip in a time machine.
-
He wasn't exactly setting the world alight at York before he came here and helped to get us promoted. Sometimes players and clubs just don't mix. I'd be prepared to give him a go, but that's just my opinion.

I agree with this, our style of keep ball seemed to suit him, he's a player that can unlock a defence
