Delighted for Cambridge united but I've got to be honest, a trip there would have been my preferred choice in the up coming season...

Precisely, great place for a few drinks and easy to get to from London, friendly too, never had any bother there. Got a mate in Newcastle however so a weekender could be on the cards. The Heed are not league material anyway.

Always pefer the bigger club out of the way , apart from bristol rovers , grimsby and wrexham ,the conference is looking a bit the way it used to and a shift to more part time teams ?

Agree with pete Also having watched the first half wanted Gateshead to win as they tried to play football and Cambridge were direct however they have knocked on the door a lot and came 2nd so fair play

In fairness jimmy, it seems the pub we go in Gateshead has had a massive regeneration and has a load of ale on now so, alls not lost

I said to Wilf last week that if Gateshead lost we could possibly have one hell of a weekends fun when we play up there, especially if Shildon are at home and it isn't a 3pm KO. Top night out is Newcastle, so quite happy the Heed are staying down.
