The referee at Grays on Saturday is Mr Guy Stretton. Chris Senior will remember him very well. On 27 March 2007 at Moss Lane, Mr Stretton was the man who stopped play and made Chris leave the pitch because his boot had come off and he had picked it up. In the confusion, with Senior off the pitch, play restarted and Stafford immediately took advantage to score the only goal of the game. Mr Stretton also officiated at York CIty 1 Altrincham 0 on Bonfire Night 2006 as well as in Stafford's 1-0 win over Alty at Marston Road on 15 August 2006.
