Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Sinnott how do you rate your performance?
« on: September 27, 2014, 06:11:52 PM »
I hear some people say Marshall deserves his place over Luca but Luca's confidence has been knocked player next to a fat clueless centre back. Get a clip board and pen and watch all highlights noting down defensive mistakes and I promise you that Marshall will come out with the highest tally by a distance.  I ain't out to get him, it's there too see, so many times it's his man who knocks it in or he goes missing and Luca is stood between two men.

Haha just realised LW Clee and to add why wasn't Gillespie brought on when we went two down?????? Just pathetic by Sinnott, massive errors

Altrincham FC First Team / Sinnott how do you rate your performance?
« on: September 27, 2014, 05:50:36 PM »
I rate it shocking.

I will be always grateful for our promotion last season but this game proved why I don’t rate his tactics and man management of getting players up for games.

I have not attended many games this season but I have watched all available highlights but I am going to REPEAT some concerns I posted on here after the first two games.

We need Leather and Havern as our centre backs as Marshall is poor, positionally awful, commits himself then leaves other’s short which then makes that player seem to be at fault. I am not going to lie but I was happy for his red card.

Griffin has improved but still too slow and needs ‘get on his bike’ more down the wing to offer an option to the wide man. Densmore did OK on his return, Dens is really good at making forward support runs and gets in a high number of crosses. Griffin needs to do this, make the other team worry. We always set up so negative and as I said before it appears as if we expect teams to come at us, let us go at them, especially at home. Positive mental attitude!

Talking about wide men, as I put in my post all those games back and still hasn’t been address, is that our only creative player in Clee is picking the ball up and running directly into centre mid. This is a clear Sinnott instruction; unless he needs a decent set of specs then he must see how often our wide men run into trouble in the centre and loose the ball, resulting in the other team counter attacking against us.  We keep running out of pitch, lets get our wide men hugging the byline and opening the middle of the park up, there was no support or wide play. Taking people on out wide creates crosses, pull backs, more chance of winning pens, opens the middle up more for Reeves and other forward players.

Clee does not look fit and slightly disinterested but he is a lot more EFFECTIVE going around men, to the byline and cutting it back. We are over crowding the centre of the park and we haven’t got good enough players in that area play ourselves out of trouble.

Lawrie is so ineffective out wide, he is lazy, all season he has been lazy, he lets players jog past him leaving the right back with two to mark. Drop the lad or play him up front. We get rinsed down the channels. It wasn’t just Lawrie today who showed a lack of passion or effort, the whole team apart from Reeves and Gillespie.

The term  WE WON’T GO DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT, well I thinking we should play the ladies team as I have never seen such a lack of passion and heart.  I blame Sinnott for this, yes I repeating myself again but hopefully he reads the forum and things might start to sink in. These players need to get fire in the belly because Welling looked awful but outplayed us with ease, it was embarrassing. Whether you are a Heathcote lover or hater at least he got us fighting. I have put it many times but under him we came out like warriors, we didn’t have the technical players that Lee has at his disposal but by hell we gave it a go. That today and the goals I saw conceded at Barnet are a complete and utter disgrace.

Just to repeat myself for the 100 hundred time,if we play Perry and we turn into a long ball team and we are crap at it. Perry’s ball retention or flick on ratio is very very very very very very very poor. I stand there and can’t believe the things I see, Marshall and Perry wouldn’t even make my Sunday league team.

We need to get fitter.

We need to close down higher up the pitch, especially our wide men.

We need more men in the box at set pieces not leaving two big men back

We need more determination and aggression

We need more belief

We need a decent keeper, centre back, left back, centre mid, left and right winger and a striker who is fit, strong and can score goals

At the moment only players good enough are Havern, Leather, Reeves and maybe Clee but he is ageing and needs to be fit

Sinnott is stubborn but he needs to change things otherwise he should walk, some of the performances have been woeful, I expected us to struggle but this is ridiculous, they have given up already.

I can’t see anything but a Macc win but I would give this team a go

GK New Keeper before Tuesday

RB Dens
LB Griffin
CB Havern
CB Leather

RW Richman
CM Sean Williams ( if fit )
CM Greg Wilkinson ( I would take the gamble of some energy in the centre of the park because we are being over run through the centre far too often.

CF Reeves
CF Gillespie

It is a massive game on Tuesday, for  F-sake get yourself up for it lads, even if that means ignoring Sinnott and has softy softy approach. Step up like men.

Also if Marshall was proven at this level then he wouldn't have dropped down a league last season, he would have been kept on! Simply ain't good enough like some others.  I know I sound harsh but we are struggling big time!

Luca will step up when he has a decent centre half next him like Leather.  I'd be nervous playing with Marshall. It's just mad that it is even a debate, those two together were awesome. I appreciate it's a massive step up but FFS get them back together and go from there Lee! We need another centre back, quick winger and forward to give us a chance.

We need a freshen up and quick after two hidings. Welling Macc and Halifax next up, if we go into our first derby match in 17 years in this vein of form it will be very disappointing, we've waited a long time and taken near on two decades of flack waiting for this

Any players that need fitness need to be playing in the reserves, Cheshire league or not get them some match time. We are desperate for an injection of pace and need our centre back pairing back together sharpish

Strongest 11 at present as I see it

Coburn
Densmore
Havern
Leather
Griffin
Crowther
Williams
Cavannagh
Clee
Reeves
Gillespie

If we aren't going to add anyone on loan we need to strive to have the above 11 fit and raring to go
Spot on again

Get Havern and leather back as the centre backs
Offer Walshaw/Harrogate the world to get him back on loan
Get a pacey winger on loan

Alfreton in the midlands (top of the form table) getting a decent striker on loan from oldham (15 miles from here) whilst we are carrying on like this doesn't make sense
spot on

Nearly stated last year after the birth of his child his play would drop. It's bound too but now the nipper is a wee bit older and maybe sleeping through more often we have our happy poacher back!

I knew some people would get excited about Marshall performance.  As soon as Densmore is fully fit then we need Havern and Leather together,  trust me. They were awful and it was an easy game for Marshall but I notice little things like him running to the halfway line to win a header towards the end. It wasn't his area and if he misses it, like he has done before then we can quite easily get punished in this league. He had a good game and I'll give him credit but we will need Leather and Havern together!

Enjoyable game! Crowther played well,  a clear confidence player and his game is defo to get at people.  I am critical of Marshall and Griffin but both played really well, defo Griffins best game. However they had nothing to offer upfront and were poor so I won't get carried away about Griffin and Marshall's performances,  they need to do it over a period of games.. I still thought Perry didn't do too much, wayward passing and needs to be stronger and to be honest their central defenders were rubbish. Needed result and good game to watch!

Altrincham FC First Team / Leather and Havern

It's come to the point where I don't even care who plays right back but get Leather and Havern back together!  Sick of hearing or reading Marshall lost his man or the player got infront of Marshall to score. I've said many times he ain't fit enough and positionally poor.  Never should comes near a shirt unless fit. This league is better quality then league two so we need our best centre back partnership each game. You don't put a second hand part in a well oiled engine!

How many are we conceding from crosses and set pieces!

Altrincham FC First Team / Team for Saturday ( Densmore injured )
« on: August 14, 2014, 08:28:39 PM »
I think we will get three points on Saturday. Unfortunately I am away, gutted. With Dens out I would go with 4-4-2 to start with, higher pressing and keep wide men wide

GK) Coburn

RB Sean Williams ( not ideal but he has some pace, plenty of energy and don't think he'll get turned too often
LB Griffin ( no one else )
CB Havern
CB Leather

RW Richman ( he has the energy to close down and get back which Lawrie did not do on Tuesday, this led to their second goal )
LW Clee
CM Cavanagh
CM Moult ( plays a better game as the more advanced CM )

CF Reeves
CF Gillespie

We need our wider men to work much harder, preventing attacks and crosses. COME ON ALTY SMASH THEM !!!! GIVE NO-ONE RESPECT

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: My first game thoughts !!!
« on: August 14, 2014, 08:11:51 PM »
Well I am glad to say my eye’s are still in good working order after watching Alty TV. Watching it again people must see what I meant about Lawrie in the first half, they attacked and attacked down our right and he was no-where. I do not believe this is entirely his fault, I believe he is told to drift into central positions by the Manager but I think we are more effective when we have wide men who hug the byline.

This then opens the middle up for Williams’s runs and also for ON THE GROUND passing to our forwards as we are one of the worst teams to gain anything from long balls hoofed up as we only have Perry, who doesn’t really do much.

Marshall’s defending in the first half was woeful .

In fact Lawrie’s tracking back was even worst in the second half, no attempt at cutting the cross out which led to their second goal, Griffin no idea where his man was AGAIN. I am not sure if Richman is good enough for this standard but we need his closing down and energy wide right.

Far too many crosses on Tuesday night and hardly any were cut out before going into the box, we need to work on closing down. We can't have passengers in this team.
