Couldn't Mark Cooper just swallow it all?

Altrincham FC First Team / Eastbourne v Vics postponed
« on: January 12, 2007, 05:53:59 PM »
They are now scheduled to play on Tuesday, 16th January 2007.

So any replay would presumably take place on Tuesday, 23rd January 2007, thereby wiping out our planned evening in Connettworld.

How could you forget to mention the great Ian Tunnacliffe, who Gerry Quinn brought over from Emley?Y

What's Weymouth's left full back like?!

6665
Are Alty the only Non-League club left that Lee Elam has NOT played for?!

6666
Joe O'Neill:

26 (+ 2 as sub) appearances
5 goals

Ian Tunnacliffe:

33 appearances
5 goals

The tension builds....!

Some of us have been saying for years that Hughesy needed to undergo some plastic surgery!

I blame that lime green jacket that he keeps wearing...

Seriously though, best wishes for a speedy return to full fitness.

Altrincham FC First Team / Am I the only one on here....

......who wouldn't really mind if Tamworth drew or won when they play Norwich City tomorrow?

My theory is that their FA Cup runs always seem to disrupt their league form and so I would be quite happy to see them embroiled in the FA Cup a little longer whilst remaining rooted to the foot of the Conference.

Perhaps he regressed and thought that he was back playing for Halifax?

Ballers,

Spot on about the continuing absence of an away win.

We surely cannot stay up whilst not winning an away match all season?

We have only picked up six points out of a possible 36 on our travels to date.

Altrincham left the shay with a point after halting Town's second half surge.

Alty went ahead after 10 mins when their right winger found himself outside the box in acres of defensive wasteland squared it past the advancing Mawson for the big striker Thomson to tap home. Then it was all Atrincham finding lots of spaces to pass the ball around Town. Some of the slickest passing (I'm afraid to say) seen at the shay this season.

Uhlenbeek went off injured, to be abley replaced by Toulson. Torpey the outlet on the left couldn't get going and Aspinall took the ball from his feet on a couple of occasions. Senior had a couple of snapshots easily saved. Town didn't get into top gear first half until a Kearney free kick on 42 mins. After a couple of bobbles about- Joynes found himself with room to fire home to enable Town to go in level with their heads up.

The second half belonged to Town, Young got his shirt pulled by Thomson and fell awkwardly hurting himself, being replaced by Wright (Wright was superb) the reshaped defence pushing everyone forward time after time.
Referee Coote had little control over the game, Joynes was kicked from pillar to post. Kearney stood his ground in the heart of the midfield and later in front of the back four when the wing backs were up attacking.

Towards the end Town hit alty with a barrage- had a well hit shot from the right wing saved by a spectacular Coburn leap across goal. Another effort cleared off the line by a defender. A goalmouth melee with the ball pinging everywhere, how we never scored during this period beats me.
Alty rarely ventured out, but put in a couple of good corners when they did. They were happy with the point having taken the p-iss out of us and the referee with severe time wasting from the 70 min mark.
All in all a good game, but two points lost.
My motM Tom Kearney.

Could I have this item instead, then?

It may be useful at a rainy and windswept The Shay tomorrow!

P.S. How is your new neighbour?

I think that the answer is no.

They just missed each other.....

Danny Adams played his last match for Alty against Lancaster City on 26th August 2000.

Ian Craney made his debut for Alty at home to Emley on 9th September 2000.

After yesterday, when we looked lethargic and weary, would a postponement tomorrow actually help us in the long run?
