Altrincham FC First Team / Some people think we've got it bad

At least we've not been sold a dud, bad news for vics.wages they can ill afford to spend on a lame horse.

REDFEARN ROCKED BY STEELE BLOW

NEIL Redfearn reckons he could be without Lee Steele for six weeks.

The Vics boss told the Guardian he fears the worst after his star signing limped off during yesterday's 1-0 defeat to York City.

"It looks like a tear again," he said.

"If that's the case then it's a massive blow for us because I brought him here to get our goals."

He should know more about the extend of the damage to Steele's left hamstring today, Tuesday.

The 33-year-old was recovering from the injury when he agreed a switch from Chester City earlier this month, which is why his debut was delayed last Saturday's trip to Crawley.

He played half an hour there before being promoted to the starting line up yesterday.

Steele is not Redfearn's only worry.

Brad Maylett went off with slight concussion against the Minstermen after he took a knock to his head, while Michael Byrne was ruled out with a thigh strain.

Redfearn hopes to have both of them back in time for the weekend trip to Farsley Celtic.

Great Evenings entertainment for £2 (or free if you make use of your season ticket)

A gate of well in excess of 200 including a healthy turnout from stockport saw a really entertaining 90 minutes, from a game that was originally scheduled to be a reserve team fixture!

A starting X1 of:

Acton
Coo
Aspinall
Rose
Scott
Peyton
Whalley
Dempsey
Potts
Little
Lawton

And bought on during the game were O'Neil,Senior,Tinson and various others

Stockport fielded a side that contained a lot of first team players aswell, the snack bar did a roaring trade and Im presuming it would have been record gate recepits for a reserve game.

Cant wait for the next one to be arranged, these fixtures against the local league sides are far more entertaining and a far sterner test than those lancs league games of previous seasons, well done to Graham and all at the club involved for setting these games up, hopefullly the next one will be arranged with a little more notice, and more alty fans can come along, its a great little earner for the club if we can get a couple of hundered people turning up for all these games against the stockports and the burys etc, once again well done to the club.

Stockport county match report is here

Why the love of Lawton on the right?

He simply can't play in that position.

Robbie Lawton has had his best games for the club in centre midfield, thats where he should be playing in my humble opinion.

Im I the only one that would like to see him start a game? ,it would nice to see us go at grays next week, rather than being cautious and waiting for them to score. We tore rotherham into pieces when we went at them with an attacking formation in pre-season, and I have no issue with conceedng four, aslong as we score five.
