Title: Cambridge game: Free entry for under-12's
Post by: Paul Cain's Chip Pan on April 15, 2010, 09:43:05 PM
This is a great move by the club and I hope there will be a bumper crowd to give Colin a big send off.

So glad I'll be back for this game!

Everyone with kids at primary school has to push this. Tell them to get their teachers to announce it at assembly, give them posters to put up, whatever it takes. I remember when I was at Stamford Park the teacher handing out free tickets at assembly. About a dozen of us went down with one lad's Dad. These initiatives really do work.

I'm going back to uni in the morning however, before i go i will talk to my little cousin who is at heyes lane. May even make my own print out posters for her to take to school. Hope something will come of it.  :)

Will this offer be open to away fans as well?

Might be worth advertising it on the Cambridge website too if this is the case.

How fantastic would this be if it was one of the biggest gates of the season to say farewell to Colin?

Here's hoping everyone who can do goes along - and brings a friend or several!

Apart from anything else, it's the last chance for an Alty fix for several months!  :(

This game should be a "pay what you want" for all. 'd sooner see 3000 in the ground paying a fiver rather than 1007 in with 200 of those getting in for nowt.Wrexham v Rushden is free entry tomorrow

There might be some mileage in this, especially as the United and City games are on before/after the match in the bar.

This would be conditional on the provision of extra catering facilities as we would need to recoup as much money as possible.

Surely there's still time for the club to make that happen (and bung another burger van at the corner of the Golf Rd and Pop side?)

I think it'd definitely pay off for us (especially if all us regulars paid full price anyway)

Agree with the "Pay what you want" suggestion... stock the snack bars up, Make Colin Captain for the day, Give him 75 mins and then sub him to a standing ovation and let the bloke enjoy the applause as he leaves the pitch for the last time...

Cmon Alty....

You'll probably all think I'm silly but as Rod Thornley is still registered with us could he have a final run out towards the end?  ;D

I know that's probably only tongue-in-cheek, but it will be Colin's day and nothing should distract attention from that fact.

I take it this counts for away fans too?

If so, i'll stick it on our MB.
