Darren Sheridan, joint manager of Barrow wrote about the recent 2-2 draw with Altrincham in his programme notes for his club's recent Trophy match against Skelmersdale last week; "That was a disappointment on Tuesday, wasn't it? With no disrespect to Altrincham, they are the sort of side we should be beating.

Why is that then, should you always beat teams above you in the league?

I had a lot of respect for what they have achieved since being in relegation trouble this time last year. Their turnaround has been nothing short of a miracle, so to read bullsh*t like that coming from them is especially disappointing.

Darren Sheridan's comments are totally deluded. You can't come as far as they have in such a short space of time and think you have an automatic right to beat anybody.

...if they want to win the league. If they're in midtable obscurity then we're the type of middling team they should take a point against, in fact they should be very happy with the 4 they've taken off us.

Maybe we should have a "No Disrespect" Hall of Shame where every manager that has used this phrase since the return to the Conference gets sent a certificate and is immortalised on a special page on the the club website.
