I heard a rumor from a pretty reliable source that Ollie Byrne expects to step straight back into the team when his loan at Cork City finishes next month. Poor deluded soul.
That feels pretty unfair on Ollie. While I'm delighted by Ethan's signing, Ollie was (and may yet be) a great servant of the club.

Altrincham FC First Team / Dior on Radio Manchester
« on: October 12, 2023, 07:02:33 PM »
Worth a listen back to Dior Angus and Club Director, Sam Mackenzie, on Radio Manchester tonight, just after 6pm

Key takeaways...
  • Dior Angus supports Coventry and bakes a mean lemon drizzle
  • Sam says we can all enjoy a pint of Donkey's Breath on Saturday and describes Moss Lane as a "wonderful old lady" ;D

All in all we sounded every inch a club with its head screwed on and heading in the right direction.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Average attendances
« on: October 12, 2023, 11:58:51 AM »
After a post-pandemic boom, attendances across the lower leagues do seem to be down this year.

Cost of living starting to bite? The weather's probably been below-par for the early season too, casual floaters might not have bothered?

Also the fact that every game is now available to stream could well be hitting attendances. (In theory no Saturday 3pm games are available in the UK but all you need to get round that is a VPN).

A decent player and a useful addition in the short term but I can't help but think that a pacy winger would have been a better fit.

Alty press releases describes him as "a free-scoring winger who can also play in central midfield".
