Same starting eleven, provided all are fit, and hopefully a fit James Jones on the bench. This SHOULD be three more points if we continue our recent form.

Vanarama's highlights don't work on an Android phone.

Leamington's own highlights should be available on YouTube tomorrow.

I am going to argue a technicality - if we are looking at the most influential player in each position over the decade, I nominate Greg Wilkinson to sit on the bench

He was the most influential player for about one minute  ;D

Well Coburn, Densmore, Watmore and Clee get in everybody’s team......Have I missed anybody

It’s not for me to tell people who they should or shouldn’t have in their own personal team of the decade. However, if I was Damien Reeves and I’d scored 150+ goals in 6 seasons during the 2010s, at a better than 1 in 2 strike rate, scored goals in 3 different seasons at National League level (in an otherwise forgettable decade for the football club), passed 40+ goals in consecutive Conf North seasons (in sides not challenging for the title), and I still couldn’t get into everybody’s team of the decade, then I’d be wondering what more I could possibly do as a forward...

Just going back to look at my selection again, I'd consider Reevesy at his peak feeding off Jordan Hulme a mouth-watering prospect.

I suppose it would be easy to make a Duffer XI: just any Young team?

Almost - but regretfully I'd have to select Danny Higginbottom.
to be fair to Danny he was shoe horned into a successful defence which was not his fault and should not have been that was weak by Lee and after he came he realised he didn't have the heart for it anymore realised it and moved on taking nothing from the club . To say him over some of the piss takers we have had over the decade is harsh Griffith's for example

I'm only quoting Danny as a player who would have replaced Tom Hannigan in a Neil Young team. Griffith, on the other hand, was an absolute toerag, fit only to be mentioned in the same breath as Frank Sh*tclair.

Grey to stay.

Great result. Sounded more dangerous when Peers came on.

Looking forward to Tuesday.
Rather like Boxing Day, we should have won by a bigger margin. Leamington fans I spoke to were very complimentary. They certainly missed Marsh, who signed for Forest Green yesterday for £25K. He'd scored 24 of their 51 goals in all competitions this season. Beautifully worked goal, and our third clean sheet from four games.

Onwards and upwards, a playoff spot looks increasingly within our grasp.

Their players weren't exactly surrounding the ref. For me it wasn't a red but he should know what happens next by now.

Having commented on another thread about Aaron Cresswell's red card that was overturned by VAR,  I have to say that this is not dissimilar. Even a yellow for Max's challenge would have been harsh. He isn't off the ground, isn't out of control, and wins the ball.

On the other hand Macc have a habit of escaping from grim situations.

Suspect they will this time.......relegated, but a new saviour at the helm

It's woodlouse syndrome. You lift the stone, the woodlice are there. You put the stone back - some months later you lift the stone, and the buggers are still there.

We're certainly good enough to make the playoffs, and there isn't a team in this league that we should fear. The one team I would nonetheless prefer to avoid are Brackley.

Momentum is so important in football. We haven't always been brilliant over the holiday season, but we've come out of it with 9 points and two clean sheets.

Last time, we produced the poorest 45 minutes of our season in the first half at the New Windmill, and never looked like recovering from three goals down.

Hopefully we'll be sickness-free by Saturday, and can end the Brakes' five game unbeaten home run. I take us to battle our way to three more points.

Don't be sarcy. You should know full well by now that a two footed off the ground tackle that take the player out (if that's what it was) is going to get a player sent off even if the ball end up tucked up his shirt.

Sorry - no personal slight intended. But having just watched the Cresswell incident at West Ham, where VAR overturned the red card and it was changed to a yellow, the emphasis on that change seemed to be placed on how much of the ball he got.

I was a long way from Max's challenge, so I'll not comment until I see Alty TV.

I think you're being less than kind to Curzon. They were far better than we saw at their place, and certainly gave us a tougher test than many clubs who've been to Moss Lane this season.

Whether Max got the ball or not makes no difference. It's the nature of the tackle that matters. Why people still bang on about getting ball baffles me.
Sometime when I've got a few hours to spare, you can educate me on how to interpret "the nature of a tackle". Most of the referees we see at this level have enough trouble spotting the obviously malicious stuff, without having to give marks for artistic merit every time somebody makes a challenge.
