couple of posters on deva chat say its happening
-
Been all over twitter tonight
Theyre bringing in a lad from Crewe
-
Seems to be doing the rounds on Twitter. If true I'm a bit surprised we're bringing in another striker rather than strengthening other areas, but good luck to him anyway!
-
chester have got trundle now , mills not on bench, at least hes a biggish striker
-
we do need another Striker reeves Watmore class but the rest not good enough
-
If its true I think he is a target man type player. Destroyed us in the home game and Chester went all out to get him back permanently so must have something about him.
Will bring us something different and a new face to shake things up a bit.
Chester fans were happy he didnt play tonight in their chatroom.

chester fans in general seem baffled by it if true

Very interesting, this could be a good move and gives us more options, Dunc back on the right then?
-
I noticed hes scored a few headers... mahbe we might score from.corners!
Hope its the start of a few signings...
-
Lets wait to hear first....could be a total myth!
-
Taxi for Brooke please.
-
Scored 9 in first 7 only got 3 since then last on boxing day so perhaps why Chester offloading however I think decent signing for run in if true

Would have thought so.
No point signing a player to sit on the bench IMO.

Chester Chronical reporting it... now this is hardly the Gospel but :)

"But Young did find a spot on the bench for new signing Lee Trundle.
That resulted in there being no place in the 16-man matchday squad for fans’ favourite Ben Mills, who Young revealed after the game is joining league rivals Altrincham on loan for a month.
The departure of Mills, whose long-term future remains at the Exacta Stadium, will allow Young to sign Crewe Alexandra winger Brendon Daniels on a one-month loan deal.
Sounds like Theres more to it than giving the lad game time, maybe he's not happy there or youngs not happy with him.

Just how slow is Lee Trundle?
I'd rather have Lee Jog, Lee Run or Lee Sprint!
-
sure if unsettled or unhappy it would be a signing rather than a months loan?
I dont remember the guy, but we do need something up front as we have no cover of any form at the moment.

Is he faster or slower than cricketer Jonathan Trott?

If you were at the chester game in august you would remember him , decent signing even it is just for a monthh.

Alty could be bolstered by a new signing, believed to be Chester striker Ben Mills, who scored the opening two goals in the runaway leaders’ 4-2 win at Moss Lane in August. With the deal still to be completed, Sinnott remained guarded, saying: "We are trying to bring someone in before the weekend."
Alty are also having to contend with interest in their own free-scoring frontrunner Duncan Watmore, with Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson monitoring his progress.
"Myself and the chairman (Grahame Rowley) have had little conversations with Duncan and his dad Ian, but we are very mindful that we don’t want the situation to snowball," added Sinnott.
"What will be will be, and I am glad to say Duncan remains a very level-headed lad who is having no difficulty concentrating fully on our remaining games.
"There is a lot to come into the melting pot, with his university studies, and if anything were to happen, it would have to suit his circumstances. You can’t do anything about speculation, but I don’t want Duncan batted from pillar to post with all this."
Do we fear the worst and the exit of Duncan?

Perhaps Niel young is being kind offloading mills he has a heart of gold

News broke after the game that top scorer Ben Mills is to exit the club on loan for a month to Altrincham. This has met with a mixed reaction rather than with outright rage, confirming that manager Neil Young has now reached a position where his decisions have been so uniformly brilliant in his three years in charge that he can pretty much get away with anything now.
"Yeah, we signed Ben, then asked you for money to fund it, and now we've turfed him out to Alty and replaced him with a short-term option in Lee Trundle. I mean, sure, we could have given Ben - as a long-term investment - a run in our team to get his form back. He's not even played alongside the team's real creative force Marc Williams since he's been back at the club, after all. But the fact is, we've only got a 16 point gap to play with, so we can't afford to be fielding players who were netting better than a goal a game only a few months ago," explained Young.
Chester now look forward to a game against Vauxhall Motors on Saturday, with the club still trying to secure a deal to sign Craig Curran for several thousand pounds and send him off to play for Bishop's Stortford, before the board looks all nonplussed and asks where all the money's gone again.

Stop it....my sides are aching

this loan signing still not confirmed ?

At least Mills isn't an old man and perhaps he felt a bit helpless and was simply tired of not getting a game.
After all, as someone once said, it's better to burn out than it is to rust.
If he does, indeed, sign on loan for us, let's hope he starts his career at Moss Lane like a hurricane.

I can see the headline now
"Bay hit by Mills bombs !"
