The AGM Cup 2011

Does anybody know when this "AGM Cup" is supposed to take place?

What realistically would need to happen for Alty to retain a place in the BSBP?

The only way we'll end up in the BSP again is by winning either the BSN or the BSN Playoffs.

Any talk of the "AGM Cup" and Alty getting another reprieve is just a bit embarrassing really.

I'm sure Southport will be saved. Rushden have a lot of work to do.

Many of the topics on here seem to make reference to the AGM Cup and I was merely wondering if it was likely to affect Alty this time around.

I'm still none the wiser as to when this mystery meeting takes place and what would need to happen for Alty to stay in the top flight.

hope stockport are ok , if they arent and rushden go and soutport stay up ,then alty would get a reprieve which by the sounds of it hardly any alty fans want and rightly so.

I'll be able to see more Alty matches if they are in the BSN.

Is it true that Alty fans wouldn't want this?
While I am now quite happy to see us in the BSN next season, I wouldn't be disappointed if we did stay up (which is highly unlikely).
Should we have sympathy for clubs who overspend and essentially cheat their way to better results than they deserve? If Rushden and Stockport do go, they only have themselves to blame, surely.

Sorry, just to make it clear I wasn't having a pop at you personally, I just find the whole "AGM Cup" thing slightly tedious as we've become synonimous with it in recent times.

Here's to a successful season next year!   :)

I wouldn't care about the other clubs, I'd care about us. I'd hardly be devestated if we were reprieved but I don't think we should be clutching at straws over it. If we do get a repreive we'll go down again next season because at the moment we don't deserve to be up here. Go down, rebuild, come back a stronger club.

The man is just merely asking a question- dont take it too seriously.
Basically, its just asking when are we 'officially' playing in the BSN  next year

I think the thing is that it's going to be a lot harder to get back into the BSP than it is to stay in it (however hard that was!).
Unless someone very charismatic and talented comes in as manager and we get an injection of cash (serious cash like a long cup run for eg) I can quite easily not see us getting back up for years to come - especially with the number of other candidates coming up on the rails like Chester FCUM and Halifax etc.
Sad but true, we've got to get used to this level for a good while as, due to the full time nature of the BSP and the number of clubs with crowds at least twice ours, that is not our 'natural level' any more.
It's very depressing as a prospect for an old codger like myself.*

This is the first and last depressing post from me ... it will all be upbeat again from now one.

Come on you Supers!
