well done lee and the lads, a much needed start to a cup run.

great alertness from damian for the goal, Jordan had a very steady game at right back, scott and luca fantastic and two Coburn like saves from deasy.

well done to the ref for having the guts to back track on his decision....he blew and pointed very decisively so not sure what was said in his earpiece, or maybe he saw even the alty fans shaking our heads in amazement that he'd given a pen for what was actually a great piece of goalkeeping....

Disagree Jamie, I thought the Burton away game was our last "proper" FA Cup game.

Agree with you on the rest of your assessment. Can't argue with that performance at all.

Well done to Lee and the lads on an excellent cup win. Both teams looked wobbly at first but we settled down and dominated the mid hour of the game. Chester didn't really settle at all until they were one down, a bit surprising how poor they were.

Credit to our centre backs who were very solid, Jordan Sinnott and Josh O'keefe also had good games. Deasy pulled out a couple of top saves and generally solid. Josh O'keefe looks a different player (thankfully) and done well starting from his game against his old club Kiddy onwards - shown a good attitude and is now making decent contributions in midfield. 150th Alty goal for Reevesy - legend.

Always expect refs to be very random but giving a pen and then changing your mind was up there as one of the more surreal cup moments. Credit to the players for not losing their focus as that did seem to fire Chester up a bit more.

Not sure what the handbags with Clee / Lawrie and some Chester players at the end as I couldn't see into that corner of the ground. Anyway we won and deservedly into the draw, with £12500 as well

I had a great view of it.  A little bit of gamesmanship and running the clock down angered one fan in particular.

The ball went out for a throw in but the ball boys in front of the Chester fans had been withdrawn back to our side as it was getting a bit hostile for them (I held my nerve and stuck it out...). As the ball went down into the dip near the corner flag, a fan leaned over to pick it up and throw it back.  Clee who was also going for it, stopped.  The fan couldn't reach it as it had fallen into the dip, so then started having a go at Clee for time wasting.

When Clee went.for the ball again, he got a load of abuse, Vs shoved in his face and the usual threats of physical abuse.  He eventually got the ball, but as he was winding up for a long throw, he had to get back against the side and therefore all the fans, so it escalated again.

Quite rightly, IMO, he walked away from it.  All players will expect .some banter or abuse, but not to that level.
