FA Trophy run
« on: February 06, 2013, 12:20:50 PM »

Gainsborough have now accounted for three BSP Clubs (Forest Green, Telford, and Barrow) and must hoping for an all Lincolnshire final at Wembley against Grimsby. I'm all for it if it restricts their play off push.

I'd actually be quite pleased if they won it. I know they were a League club for 15 years (once finished a point behind City !) But it WAS over a hundred years ago, and I've always seen them as a "proper" non league club. We used to play them in friendlies before they became fellow founder members of the NLP , and I seem to remember Derek Kennerley had a lot of help from them in setting up our successful development.pool, as their.Gainspool had been running some time before

So good luck Trinity for both right and selfish reasons !

Why?

It could quite easily be a much better game between lesser lights

That sounds a bit like the year in the 90s when the final was Macc v Vics, lowest Trophy final gate of all time for a Wembley final that one was IIRC. No mark pub outfits both.

Wrexham v Halifax would produce a very sizeable attendance neither has ever played at wembley...

I'm not really arsed

Went through with Ballers last night, there 80 points easily available for us this season if we can push on

It about us nobody else

If we don't do it, it because we not good enough

If Dartford beat Halifax (2-1 at the moment, 75 min) that would immediately lower the potential following.

Because i dont want to sit in an emoty wembley with only 8,000 there

Halifax out

Dartford win 3-2.

JACK : BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR !

Non-Alty, but remarkable - Frickley have won 8, drawn 3, and lost 2 at home. So they can't be totally crap........but their 3-2 defeat at Worksop this evening leaves them still without a single point from 12 away games !

I'd just like to point out that I told Socrates before we played at Worcester (in the Trophy obviously) that I fancied Dartford for the Trophy...

It is of course about what we do but slips by other teams allow us to slip up as well.

We won't win every game along the way to the end of the season (I don't think).

I'm sure there will be a game where we do everything but score and then Jonny Teenager pops up with a thunderbolt and we have lost 1-0.

I think it started with me at an early age, watching 309 on ceefax to see if people had scored, waiting for page 3/3 to come round
