So how do we think tonight will go?
I'm going for a strong side (at least in the first half) and a narrow victory.
Come on you Robins 👍 🇦🇹

With that sort of forecast, I hope you've entered the new Alty Predictor competition!

Won 1-0 with a first half Donawa goal - strong starting XI.

I couldn't go - how did we line up formation-wise? From the way it was listed on Twitter it seems we reverted back to our traditional 4231 with the two Justins on the wings?
First half we played as you say typically, quite a high energy match, pitch was ok, wythy were full of energy and pressed hard, we made a few openings and never looked like conceding tbh. Second half we had 3 trialists on and other fringe players mostly. But still looked comfortable overall. There keeper made a few saves and we hit post. Overall a good workout with only 3 friendlies remaining after last night!!

Angus Dior I assume is injured as no sign of him since Lancaster.

282 attended fair few from alty, first half was stiflingly hot. Good to see Kosy playing, thought Osborne looked fit and Dior had good movement. New winger looked promising.

second half we dominated, but poor finishing and good goal keeping kept us out. Linney looked lively as did trialist winger. Thought other than his goal that Bennett was largely anonymous but has trimmed down a little.

Very pleased they got a contract extension. Great news

I'm much more optimistic than last season, on paper we have some good experienced players coming in. As Parky said in the video that they now need to mould them and deliver as a team. Time will tell but now looking forward to the upcoming season.

Are further signings being announced this week or is that it for now?
I'm hoping we have  a winger or 2 already signed up. Hopefully announced this week.

Really pleased as others with CCC, other signings look really promising, more experience at this level.

Just awaiting those elusive wingers now.

Is Sam Roscoe related to Ollie Byrne or are they just mates??

How embarrassing was that? What a slap in the face for the fans at the end of a bitterly disappointing season. It’s hard to see how going full time is a positive when we’ve not improved our league position and bottled 2 cups. At least we stayed up this year but next year is not gonna be easy. We seriously need to address our keeper situation and Gould needs to go ASAP. Him coaching Byrne is the blind leading the blind. Step it up lads

Totally agree and said this last night.

I’m afraid our management team are too one dimensional. No plan B as usual. Why oh why do we pass the ball backwards or sideways so much, we have nobody who can bring the ball out from the back with any confidence. Even Congleton sussed our system.
We looked like the part time outfit.

We desperately need two new keepers.

James Jones was off the pace. Luke Burgess needs to return to Oldham, Bennett isn’t the player we had at the start of the season.

Pringle is too one footed.

The penalty shoot out was a fkn Joke.

Another 130 mile round trip I wish I hadn’t done.

Thank Christ that this season is over.

The Big announcement that is meant to be disclosed to those attending the end of season dinner (which I won’t be there for) had better be along the lines of a lot more money is going to pumped in to attracting players who are a lot better than most of our squad, otherwise we will be definitely be in a relegation struggle next season.

Finally Congratulations to Congleton, you bloody deserved it lads

Pretty much agree here, I imagine the announcement is a contract extension for the management duo.. The defence needs sorting, the GK area needs a revamp, new coach and a keeper to challenge Ollie as a minimum. we'd have been better with Forde in goal. I agree over Burgess, no thanks and Bennett needs to get fit, then we might see the old Bennett. Will be interesting to see how we freshen up.

In reflection whilst we were slow inmoving the ball we did have enough chances to win 3 or 4 games, need to be clinical.

I'll renew my season ticket once I see some positivity returned in the refreshing of the squad.

We've played weak teams against them a couple of times in the past and been beaten in this competition.
I hope Parky takes it seriously and puts out the first team. If he does, surely we'll win it.
He must be aware, despite the disparagement of some on here, that some silverware would be another demonstration of progress for the club.

I believe parky will play a strong team tonight, he wants some silverware for the next team photo!
