How about this for confidence?
What are our chances of a top 10 finish?
It is possible but I would be extatic with a top 20 finish however.
-
its very very close in the bottom half of the league, but top 10 maybe a little optimistic!
Yep, top 20 will do
-
if we got top 10 i would dye my hair in red an white stripes. ;D
top 20 will suit me fine.

I'd just be happy with hair!
But given the choice of a top 20 finish or hair, I'd go for the top 20 finish every time
-
top 20 will do nicely ;D

Let's concentrate on getting enough points to stay up before thinking about top ten places!
-
Oh sorry Bob.
I didnt mean to upset you by my comments ::)
-
Who says you upset me? :)
-
Typical altyfans! We lose 4 in a row and its "heathcote out" "the club's doomed". We win 2 in a row and we're top 10!! Let's just hope we can keep this run going and get enough points to stay up

In fairness, despite the odd person predicting relegation, I don't recall anyone saying Heathcote out" for a while. I think the "Top 10" was a tad tongue in cheek.
-
Exactly Alysmiffy ;D
-
tongue in cheek??? i'm expecting a playoff place!
-
BUMP ;D
10 games to go - 10 points of 10th.
WOW all the 10's - has to be a fate.
Come on flame me !!!

You should have been stood near Dave Birch like I was last night - with about 5 minutes to go he was convinced that Graham deserved the sack because we were only holding on as opposed to playing champagne football. He also spent the whole 2nd half saying "if they don't score on this attack then I'm a dutchman". Perhaps he's like this every game, but this is the first time I've had the honour of standing within earshot of him.
-
I had an experience with Dave Von Birch last night as well....he screamed at me on the coach that it "was a poor game..poor game it was..they could have scored"
Here's to a few more poor games I say.
-
As a regular stander-near-to-David Birch, he is like this all the time. Those of us who have to endure this sort of drivel week in and week out try to ignore it to the best of our ability. However, one person cannot ignore his rantings and that is one Denis Birch, who retaliates, calls it rubbish and almost comes to blows - we spectators can only watch on in amusement ;)
Seriously, it does get irritating as Dave struts back and forth at as far to the back of the Pop stand as he can which serves to exacerbate his dulcit tones - he does need a zip :-X
-
That's Dave? I thought that was Denis. Which one's Denis then?
-
Denis is the one who stands by the fence and when he gets excited he 'dances'
He is quite often to be found in the vicinity of a Steward (or vice versa) located there to attempt to calm his excesses
I think his main claims to fame are firstly his totally irrational loathing of Jason Gallagher which he espoused on a very regular basis and his once having clouted a Gateshead full back with his umbrella
David, as Parkin Baker so eloquently described can be seen patrolling the rear of the terracing muttering 'I don't like this! I don't like it at all' 'They're going to score you know' and many other such encouraging phrases
-
Ha! I know who you mean now. I was right with Denis, didn't know David was David. Now I do, thanks :)
-
BIG BUMP.
Although I am going to have to admit that top 10 might be difficult now.
I therefore have renamed this thread - TOP 12 FINISH.
I challenge you to flame me !!!
-
Mr. Birch spent the entire second half in the match at home to Crawley poking me in the side and asking me what the hell I knew about Crawley. I have to admit, I know nothing about them, but then again, I'm led to believe that's not very unusual.
