Alty mentioned again on ESPN

During the Norwich v Man Utd match it has just mentioned that although ref Anthony Taylor is from Manchester he's allowed to ref Utd as he's an Altrincham supporter. We get everywhere :-)

I would be very surprised if any football fan growing up in Timperley does not favour one or the other Manchester clubs, except for the very minor minority that choose the support a team from outside the area. Most Alty fans have another club they favour although Alty will always be their first love.

Got a mention on 606 Radio 5 as well - Mark and Doc Savage talked about the score and asked for Alty fan to ring in - so I did. Got on last for about 45 seconds!

Alty, Liverpool , Aberdeen in that order aswell.

So it was quite pleasing in some ways to see  Zander Diamond the other night for Burton, being a former Dons player only 18 months ago or so
& also scoring two goals against Celtic in a 4-2 win.

1986 was the best year for my three teams. all winning their own versions of FA Cups if you call the Trophy the non league FA Cup.

I can't believe that's true.

Obviously when watching a game between two other sides, I find myself wanting one of them to win but nothing serious. I have a system....

If it's a foreign team v an English team, I favour the latter.

If it's a northern team versus a southern team, I favour the former

If it's north west vs other northern, I go north-west

If it's merseyside versus manchester, it's manchester

And obviously if it's city vs united I go Citeh.
