Nijmegen is famous for its annual marches which are gruelling to say the least. Very popular with armed forces personnel .

Yes, you're right.  Also I remember travelling from Dusseldorf to Amsterdam by train in the mid-1980s and we passed slowly over a large iron bridge that had a plaque referring to it being the one made famous by the film.  It didn't impress me much at the time as far as bridges go.
Hundreds of men lost their lives during Operation Market Garden trying to take or defend that strategic bridge. Dutch civilian fatalities were also very high.

I do think Crawley will go

Are Crawley still the same bent mob that broke all the financial rules to get promoted....Company Registered Office was a shipping container at Gatwick Airport IIRC

after following football for about fifty years i never pretend that i understand it. how are gatehead getting it so right at the moment?

They're on an absolute mad one, so hopefully tonight's 5-2 win for them at Eastleigh puts the Saturday result into context a little more.

I suppose little tweaks to the balance of a lineup can have really amplifying effects - whatever it is, they've definitely found the formula of late.

Or sometimes the Gods just really shine on you - there really wasn't anything in Saturday's game judging by the highlights, sometimes it just goes for you.
I know where you are coming from with the 'game in context' comment and with Halifax beating Wrexham also.......but for me both games against Gateshead and Halifax should have been won with better finishing. At worst we should be at Wembley and have taken a point Monday

I don't think for a second that signing Oyedele is an option that we'd be offered.
Completely agree....he is on the list of current loanees though to sign if we can

Feel to push on next season or even to stay still we need to improve a lot up front. We create enough chances to win many more games, but do not convert. Today and Trophy semi are good examples.

I am maybe being a bit harsh with Byrne who did well today and is young, but just feel that all the top half clubs have a keeper who looks more at home in Conf National.....just my opinion

Enjoyed the day.....well did so after that utterly dire 80 minutes of dross from both sides.....thought stewarding / policing there also deserves a mention - just what you expect..respectful to our fans and threw out the few dickheads attracted by our recent rise into mid-table Conference football

Some perspective please...we could have won that one nil and then what would people on here be saying??

No wonder some of the platers and staff don't like the forum

If the ref had blown earlier for full time we would have gone through
Yes.....we should be grateful we got to the semi

I could talk about time played, the flare that bought them more time, the poor pens, the lack of fresh legs etc........but we lost because we need 6 chances to score a single goal.

Proper pissed off tonight

Big issue for me is a simple statement

Not that fussed where I stand, but dont want to be guessing on what is happening when play is in Popside corner flag areas

Would normally stand on hoardings...even if rain....but with a bigger following it is packed with kids etc and due to serious dangers of standing two deep identified by TBC...have to move back onto terrace

134
Apparently we now have a scoreboard. Since I stand on the pop side I only have other peoples' word on the subject, as it might as well be in Stamford Park for all the good it is to me.

It’s in the only place it could have gone.
Think this tongue in cheek comment supports / confirms the restricted view complaint, rather than being a dig at the new scoreboard

135
Sorry to hear Hugh.

Been said many times....The Popside is for home fans. Get fed up with not being able to use all of it and then having the view restricted by temporary fencing to the left of us whilst looking towards the Chequers corner flag

Worse still there is now more fencing to the right of the central section of the Popside which restricts the view to the Fanzone corner flag area of the pitch. No idea what this fence is for....Trafford MBC ?
