Has left York.
Just saying like
-
Back to Telford perhaps?
-
A player we should have signed a few years back. A big signing if Parky's poached him.

An ironic post I assume ? We couldn't afford to keep him in doughnuts, and at 30 he'd do nothing for our age profile. Besides which, he's an obnoxious little twerp.
-
Back to macc i suspect
-
Would be a superb signing, people didn’t want Chris denham or Kyle Perry either
-
Do we really need him at present?
-
I have no doubt about his perceived value to our team as a player but I doubt I would ever be able to find myself liking him. Anyway I would agree with Steve ...do we really need him right now?
-
I'm petty sure hes a number ten or can play wide right. I doubt he would be an improvement on Hancock or Mooney
-
Do we really need him at present?
I'd have had him on at half time yesterday in a heartbeat, he's got the ability to score from nothing. Up to the management of course, but recruiting a player that was integral to Macc achieving Div 2 status would illustrate the club are deadly serious about promotion, not just as a pleasant by-product from great football.

JTD agree with every word - he is a class act and would make a major difference - which we could have done with yesterday. That he is not a sainted angel does not bother me in the least - he would be a brilliant signing.

...has joined Alty

Welcome Elliott

So now he's OUR obnoxious little twerp. I'll try to take to him, but it won't be easy. I remain unconvinced of his value to us, but I'm open to persuasion I suppose.
-
Absolute mint signing this. Welcome to alty
-
We are the famous Alty FC,
We are the team you've come to see,
We play in red and white,
The Macclesfield are shi... no... actually the are ABSOLUTELY PISSED OFF.
(still sh*te as well).
How much better does it get.
Wonderful.
-
This is a really weird signing. Really weird. I didn't see it coming as I actually can't see where he will play in our team! Don't get me wrong, I always thought he was a smashing little player, but it is utterly bizarre notwithstanding.
Welcome to our wonderful club Elliott.
-
Eight man midfield.
-
Got to be a good signing surely.
Nothing wrong in signing Pantomime Villians……as Pete has stated, eyebrows were raised when we signed Chris Denham and then Kyle Perry. I would have been more than happy (ten years ago) to have signed another well known nemesis in Richard Brodie. All talented players.
-
True. Who would have thought Kyle Perry would become an Alty hero.

Welcome to our wonderful club Elliott.
Christ, you can't win. One minute we have a weak bench and lack a Plan B, the next minute we're making unnecessary signings.
Durrell can play at Number 10 - or, like Mahon and Mooney, he can come inside from the wide positions.
Given that all three of our forwards behind Hulme were completely ineffective on Saturday, we'd have definitely found room to bring him on.
-
So in the last week Mooney and now Durrell opt to sign for us. We've come a distance from Nicky Clee being attracted by the bright lights of the Horsfall Stadium.
-
Cracking signing. Proven quality at levels above the one we currently play at. I guess you could see him as a very belated replacement for James Poole. Good to ease some of the creative load at Number 10 for Josh. Well done to the Board.

I'm not sure I suggested it was an 'unnecessary signing' to be fair! What I meant was, he'll be on a few quid to sit on the bench. Always lovely to have a Plan B and I'm really pleased with the signing!!!

At least his red baseball cap hasn't got 'MAGA' written on it:

The reaction to this news from our dear friends at Macc:

My, those grapes are REALLY sour ;D
-
Wow, that Macc forum doesn't like us still. Or Elliott now ;D :D
-
And nowhere on that thread does it mention that he'll probably get paid at Alty ;D

Make Altrincham Great Again?
-
I don't know much about Elliot Durrell TBH but Josh Lundstram's loan period ends next week I believe so is Durrell seen as a replacement?

Not the same player; from what I've seen, Lundstram plays much deeper than Durrell.
-
I thought Lundstram was here until end of season? If not I'd be moving heaven and earth to make it so.
-
"Altrincham have signed Crewe Alexandra midfielder, Josh Lundstram, on a 28 day loan until February 18th."

Hope this gets extended
-
Probably our first sight of Elliot Durrell. Did us some damage, and possibly caused the pie stall a few nervous looks at their stock levels.

Carjacker.
-
Well I said do we really need him originally? I think the answer came on Tuesday at Spennymoor. 3-1 down when he came on and brought it back to 3-2 with a well-taken penalty. Wonder how we would have got on if he came on from the start? Admired him after getting cropped in the box after a good run, then taking responsibility for the penalty afterwards.
Lots more to come from this talented player, and he can wind up other fans now. Will improve the team further, and my tip for the all-important play-off final goal, should we make it. I came very close for my last playoff final prediction last time when I nominated Kyle Perry, who took out Guisley's keeper.
-
He was brilliant today. What we needed.
-
I was sceptical. I was wrong. Sensational introduction to the game today !
-
Top class so far.
-
So, who was the last Alty player to score a goal in each of his first four appearances for the club?
Calling Flynny or Management Guru....
It's at times like these when you once again mourn the absence of the late roytonmike.
-
You can't argue with the stats but I saw him and thought WTF. If you are a star you don't need to stick your head in the bleach. Just do it and we will love you.

Off the top of my head, because he was prolific for a short time, Keith Russell?

could have pink hair for all of care . Up the reds

I give you Bert Lister who scored in hid first 9 games for Alty, netting 15 times in that period. His debut was on 1st December 1966, in a 2-1 win at Tranmere Rovers Reserves. His second game was the FA Cup First Round tie at Grantham, and he scored in the 3-0 win. He also scored in our 2-1 defeat at home to 3rd Division Barrow in the Second Round in front of 8462 fans at Moss Lane.
This I think sets the high water mark.
-
See if he fancies a comeback.
-

Very well put.
-
Bert Lister was spot on for Mike. Bert retired from full time football (and hence joined Alty) because he wanted to devote himself to his newsagent IN ROYTON!
-
Can anyone confirm who the last player to score in their first four games was?
-
I can't find anybody after Bert Lister; although Duncan Watmore came close, scoring in his first three starts for Alty
-
I doubt we've ever had anyone else score 4 in 4 without ever playing a full 90 minutes. !

I'm taking that as confirmation Bill as it's a fantastic statistic to tweet out!

Off the top of my head, because he was prolific for a short time, Keith Russell?
When Keith Russell first joined Alty on loan from Blackpool in October 1997, he scored in three of his first four games for the club.
When Bernard Taylor brought him back to Moss Lane on a permanent basis in March 1998, Russell proceeded to score in each of his first four games for the Robins.

I knew it’d have been pretty close
