Title: Macclesfield Town - MATCH THREAD
Post by: Stan Hibbert on December 20, 2016, 11:03:52 AM
It's all pretty quiet on here re tonight's game.

1) Is anyone going and 2) have we any predictions?

1) I am going and 2) we will probably lose.

BUT, I am looking forward to it.

C'MON ALTY..!

I'm hoping they send a weakened team and we are able to surprise them.

There's less pressure on this game so I'm hoping we can put out a team who leave their angst in the changing room and give us something positive to chew on over Christmas.

Our best performance of the season was away at Lincoln. We've got nothing to fear here and they have everything to lose.

Still think we'll be beaten comfortably though.

Even the prospect of renewing my verbal battle with Richard Brodie can't tempt me I'm afraid.

I've never been less enthused about a football match against local rivals. I'll be in attendance but for the worst calendar year in the clubs long and proud history to end by being patted on the head by this lots reserves and a game against them other pricks on Boxing Day just about sums it all up.

Macclesfield play a weakened team, we play above ourselves under no pressure and book ourselves a surprise trip to Suffolk. And then I wake up......

Whilst Hobson is not a good player Reeves has been garbage for ages now. I can fully understand buzz dropping him on Saturday. Don't think he touched the ball when he came on.

1-1 and Hannigan subbed so presume he's injured again?! Off to bed now and hoping I get up to news of a late winner!

Fair play to the lads for taking it seriously.

Surely the one outcome nobody from either club wanted? Pity we didn't have an arrangement to finish the tie on the night.

He was very poor again tonight. It's not the popular thing to say but his time as a top player for this club is over. Yes, he isn't getting the service he needs but his movement off the ball is woeful and he is very slow. Probably the events around the club have contributed to his decline but he is living off past reputation unfortunately.

Sadly the only other option is Craig Hobson. Less said about that the better...

Much better. We battled hard tonight and the lads put in a real shift to earn a replay. I think we are working harder and have better shape and structure under Buzz. It's far from perfect but I've seen more to be optimistic about under the new management team than anything under Jim Harvey. So the improvement on the field along with two quality signings means I'd give Buzz, Robbie and Graham until the end of the season to stake their claim for the job full time.

Yet to read any reasonable argument against that proposal.

Hannigan's injury is apparently 'only' a knock, so hopefully not too serious.

Much more fight throughout the team. Patterson more solid at rb than densmore at present.

Bizare the critisim of Reeves. Playing a lone striker in team that dont pass the ball.

Can't fault the effort tonight, to a man they all gave 100%. The board pick the management who in turn pick the team, the buck stops at the top.

Good effort by the team, that's not in doubt.

However, I thought we were very lucky to get a draw.

2 shots on target last night makes is 3 shots on target in the last 2 games which isn't good enough - lots of work still to do.

Let's hope Sicknote Hannigan is fit over Xmas and Jones is the player we think he is.

If this is the case I am weirdly optimistic that we can get 4 points from FCUM.

There are quite a number of factual inaccuracies in this report.
