Presumably, this signifies that Trafford Council may have been persuaded to increase the capacity for this fixture?
-
So we're assuming that's them in the chequers end then? If so, surely we can bank on another 4000 for us as away allowance is usually 20%.3500 at least wouldn't you think?

Let’s hope so and not the prospect of 1,000 away fans being the only supporters watching the game. 🥺

It would be nice if just 1 game we could find out from our club before the away team.
Big announcements were usually timed by both clubs. What's going on with our social team or do they only want to tweet the wrong accounts and post funny memes.
-
Supporters of wrexham have purchased "open air terrace - no seats" so assume its chequers
-
I believe we have released over a thousand for home fans with the hope of releasing more when TMBC let us increase capacity.
-
Also not included in that 1100 tickets will be over 400 season ticket holders, so that will be over 1500 home tickets so far.

That will pay the Steward Bill :)

Great news, we just have to make sure they behave themselves now :-)

3.9k for Christmas, 5k when Plan B distraction finishes. Pop side work needed in summer.
-
Perhaps we can get Home and Away fans at a capacity Moss Lane chanting in unison for Phil Parkinson's Red & White Army. Up the Robins! ;)
-
I see Stockport have also predictably sold out their 1000 tickets for 03 Jan very quickly today too. Looking forward to that one (if we’re still allowed in by then).

When do the Wrexham tickets fo on sale and how many for ze golf Road?

Re the comment about how it would be nice if we could find out before fans of other clubs what is going on -
1. Re the capacity - the club cannot release information about capacity until we get agreement from TBC - and whilst details were shared with individual fans about the capscity for the Xmas period games- I don't think the club received any confirmation until maybe yesterday afternoon.
2. The Chequers end is not one of the three restricted areas in the ground - these are The Golf Road, the Pop side and the Main Stand - so capacity can be set at 1000 for the Chequers end. The Family stand is not restricted either - so capacity for that can be fixed at 1177. Therefore we can safely release 1000 standing tickets to Wrexham and Stockport, and we can also release up to 177 seats to them.
The point of this is that the club has definitely not with-held information from Alty fans about capacity and tickets.
3900 - if this has actually been agreed now by TBC - is a good working capacity for the two big games, and if we sell out both, we will have the 2 biggest league attendances at Moss Lane for over 50 years.
For all the problems on and off the field in recent weeks, the fact that we are talking in slightly disappointed terms about attendances restricted to 3900 shows just how far we have come in the last 3 years or so.
My advice is to get your rickets bought for both games asap - as I think we may indeed sell out.

That 1k hasn't come from a finger in the air, Bill, Lawrence, Grahame Rowley (assuming he still does Ops) and Nigel made a decision.
That 1k on sale should have been communicated by the club to fans with an update on when and why decisions were being made.
Not every update needs to be an essay from Bill in full details. Lots of fan base aren't on this forum or even local, so for festive games updates should be more forthcoming.

To be fair the 1000 capacity for the chequers end/away end hasn't just been set. That was the capacity for the Bromley match, I believe, and was the main reason why we were able to increase the capacity for that match. Uncovered terracing is not subject to the same restrictions as covered terracing is. Not sure what the board should have said that they didn't TBH.
The leader of TBC confirmed the effective capacity as 5000 and at 3900 for the next two matches to a random proper fan on Friday but not to the club. That isn't the board's fault. They have had this entire situation visited on them from nowhere and I know for a fact that the largely unpaid volunteers that comprise the board and management of the club have worked night and day and lost a lot of sleep trying to put this whole sorry mess right - they did not create or deserve this mess but they have done everything humanly possible to sort it out,

Well said Leeds Leeds.

Good post fella

The fact Andrew Western emailed me out of the blue to tell me the crowd capacity is still one of the weirdest parts of the saga.
I'll see if he can solve bin collections too
