Kelly

remember watching him at Hednesford, my o my was he a 'large' fella, quite like me  ;)

Hell he could take a free kick he could; remember watching him bang one in top left corner which was disalowed then he banged it in the top right; during a reserve game that was .

Tony Kelly, I remember him in a 2-2 draw at home against Farnbororough Town, 95/96 I think and only about 550ish at the Lane that day but it was the most accomplished, skillful masterclass I've ever seen on a football pitch. Scored one and set up the other and his passing was like a combination of Beckham/Gerrard and Scholes, his nickname of 'Zico' was well deserved, he had pots of skill. Top man.

Congratulations on ryan shotton's club getting promoted.

So possibly another player with Altrincham on their CV playing in the premiership. Who will be the first to name the other ones?

Sorry was reaing below... Adam Farley played for the Evrton first team, broke his cheek bone. He was a great player, still is. We would have done well to keep him, we seem to let everyone progressing through the ranks go.... Useless.

Paul. Great player lost for peanuts.

Len Cantello.

Tommy Docherty did sell him to Crewe for £3,000 in 1998/9, but we had a 20% sell on clause & when Crewe sold him to Coventry for £300,000 in 1990 we received £60,000.
A good chunk of the £60,000 was used to sign Ken McKenna & John Brady.

Another Pie man was John Higgins, think he made pies for a living.
Best I can remember was Joe Kennedy from the forties or early fifties. He would have played for England but for playing in the same position as Billy Wright. He may have been capped for England A or B or whatever it was called in those days.
