Starling Moss is not amused with developments at the Club.
Neither was A Jay Leitch-Smith

I'd agree with that. I was sat near the front, and wasn't directly affected, apart from seeing stewards on the touchline staring at the crowd in an aggressive, confrontational manner, and periodically walking up into the stand to drag people out of the ground.
Sadly this was my experience too. To see a row of intimidating stewards directly facing the Alty fans for the entire match made me feel as if I had to put my hand up and seek permission to go to the loo!

As for the argy-bargy at the back, I was as disgusted by the police as much as the stewards. They seemed to do the stewards’ bidding, no questions asked.

All very unsavoury, totally un-Alty and absolutely unnecessary. They let Halifax down massively.

Unfortunately, whilst I would like to vote with my feet and stay away, The Shay is nearer to me than Moss Lane, so I will probably be at the away fixture again next season. Come on Alty!

No disrespect to Warrington but cant help thinking that Tony could play at a much higher level! SBL

I can see me watching Warrington a few times next season.
Methinks you’ll only be going so you can get your hands on pints of the finest liquid to come out of Warrington - Grunhalle lager. Yummy  :-\

Volume much better.

The fact I couldn't hear what was playing other than a brass band suggests otherwise.
What I assume was the Ukrainian National Anthem was indeed quiet - most likely due to the source being recorded at a low level and then played back without adjusting the amplifier volume. The rest of the output from the sound system was plenty loud enough.

We were able to hold a converstion at half-time without resorting to lip-reading and sign language. We even conversed about the 45 minutes football we’d just watched. What a novelty.

However, if you want to turn it down another notch on the Pop Side for CB, that’s fine by me.

Being the member of a local musical outfit and long standing Alty fan, I was wondering who it might be I need to contact to investigate the possibility of some half time airplay? Any idea who I speak to?

I don’t imagine this will be an improvement on yesterday however…

If we turn this marketing experiment on its head and ask “where can I play original new music on a sound system which is completely wrong for the full frequency spectrum so the nuances of the music is completely lost; to a demographic audience which is largely disinterested and which is attempting to undertake an objective which is at odds with playing of said music, and made even more difficult the louder and more distorted the music is. I want this to have the desired effect of alienating the audience to my music.”

Bingo! Half-time at Moss Lane fits the bill perfectly.

But the next line says “Click here to buy tickets”
If you do that you will be presented with the option to buy tickets for the Weymouth match, and others. Select the Weymouth match.

Non Altrincham FC Talk / The Earth is flat & Digie for England
« on: January 30, 2022, 11:31:00 AM »
I found a very interesting article the other day, commenting on some work done by a learned group at the University of Malta, following research done by 50 universities. How good is that?

It would seem to uphold my long-held belief that the earth is flat - why else would they have throw-ins at football matches? No club can afford to keep losing balls over the edge.

The article is here:
https://www.um.edu.mt/think/the-earth-is-flat/

Obviously I can’t prove this but there must be some truth in it. Why else would people keep disappearing off the planet? Clearly there is some strange phenomenon at work - some people call it death - but I don’t subscribe to the view that people get ill and die. No, they get too close to the edge and fall off.

Horses do too.  Where is Shergar? And Chris Senior? What more proof do we all need?

This article is good too:

THE COVERS! Excellent call SA why are we not using them more?
Because they contravene Trafford Council health and safety regulations. When the covers are rolled up at the edge of the pitch they are deemed to be a trip hazard for our dainty footballers.

[Still, I've watched a fair few matches at Wimbledon over the years, and don't ever remember a ballgirl collapsing.
Try these four individuals in 2019:

I think, listening to the interview carefully, that what PP said was that Jordan was on the bench because he had played the full 90 minutes at Barnet (he looked absolutely knackered at the end) and didn't come on because he tweaked his groin in the warm up. Just my reading of it.
Now that makes sense. Thanks for that.

I don't know what was going on but as things stand I hope that Jordan was being kept out of sight of any Grimsby scouts.

Will they be Sea Scouts?
