Worth a look for next season...

"Joe O'Neill scored again for Stalybrdige in the FA Trophy"

Now he's had more regular football he may have improved his consistency & strength. If staly don't get a promotion I wonder if he's worth another look.

Anyone heard how he's been playing?

To reply to the subject title of your thread...

In a word: no.

He's found his correct level.

Good luck to him but he is not up to BSP standard.

Yes, what the last poster said. The difference in standard from here to Conference North is simply massive. That it's taken us 5 seasons to fully find our feet back up here evidences that.

The reason Joe O'Neill is playing well is because he's the best player on the team, making everyone pass to him and also the blue sq north is a poor league. He was a headless chicken at alty and still would be if he returned.

I don't suppose one of these would be a better option then?
"Tottenham have put four players up for sale, including captain Robbie Keane, as boss Harry Redknapp prepares a January bid for Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy. Spurs will listen to offers for Keane, Roman Pavlyuchenko, David Bentley and Alan Hutton in next month's transfer window."

Joe was always a great trier at Alty and, in my view, not a headless chicken. Although he didn't score anything like enough, I had a lot of time for him (although player of the year was a few steps too far IMO) Unfortunately as Cult and others have said, he just wasn't good enough.

I was one of those who voted for him as Player of the Year. I did so on the simple basis that, in a generally poor side, he NEVER gave less than100%, and ran unselfishly for his colleagues.

That said, the only players in that squad worth a Conference gig were Col and Stu.

Not a chance, like others i must agree i cannot fault his effort, but facts of the matter are he purely was nowhere near the standard.

Joe O'Neill is a great guy and as honest and hard working a player as you'll see at any level of football.

He is not quite BSP standard unfortunately, but I'm delighted he's doing well at Stalybridge.
