Its a shame to read that..
What I dont understand is why some clubs are permitted to drift along and continually  fail to pay their tax bills and other debts ... and a club like Kings lyn is just told "Thats it" and go out of business..

How much did the authorities help this club by demoting them after they had spent the necessary to upgrade and contiinued to do so?
The floodlight bill would probably have covered the tax bill?
How much did the club overspend beyond their means competing with others overspending?

2006 Oldham Athletic visit Lynn in a televised FA Cup tie watched by an attendance of 5,444.

2007 A £350,000 renovation project began to renovate the grandstand roof and replace the wooden seating.

2008 Southern League Premier Division champions, promoted to Conference North

2009 Demoted to the UniBond League Premier Division for failing to undertake ground grading work in time to comply with league rules.
Floodlights upgraded to Football League standard.
High Court winding up order imposed on the club over an unpaid £77,000 tax bill to Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs.

Sounds like another dover...kicked out for effectively having a 3 sided ground?

They clearly needed a gangster in charge to scare the authorities!!

Denise read his horoscope for me (Scorpio) one day last week, when he reckoned I should consider changing my occupation, and take something where I could use my manual skills to the full. I'm a f***ing dyspraxic for God's sake - it takes me all my time to fasten my shoelaces some days. The man's a t**t (using the word man loosely).

Phil,

Have you considered wearing slip-ons?

It could revolutionise your life.

I thought the Unibond was the name of the northern section underneath Conference North, i.e. the Northern Premier League? Or does it sponsor the Southern now?

It is. King's Lynn are judged 'Northern' due to Southern skew at that level.

On a strict North - South divide, Kings Lynn is further North than Birmingham ! It's just that it's so far EAST it's practically in Poland.
