Incidentally I didn't know what diatribe meant so just checked the wikidictionary and got
An abusive, bitter denunciation.
A prolonged discourse.
A speech or writing which bitterly denounces something.

Now I finally understand all those e-mails.

Just goes to show you shouldn't use long words otherwise you might get misunderstood.
