I would have taken Walshaw off at half time. His touch in the first half was terrible. Gave the ball away so many times and was prepared to compete for the high balls. I felt like he was playing for his place in the team and making a mess of it. Second half was a different story

I don't know how you can judge Smikle. So many times the rest of the team refused to pass to him even though he was unmarked. The guy had the only shot on target in the first half.

The community project is only going ahead because if handled correctly it will enhance the reputation (brand) of the club and hopefully provide a steady income.

It's an investment for the future of the club. In the absence of any sugar daddy the money has to be generated somehow.

Altrincham FC First Team / The pitch didn't help
« on: September 29, 2013, 11:03:26 AM »
I got there very late. The score was already 1 - 1.

The thing that struck me pretty quickly was that the pitch was very bobbly. It just didn't suit our normal passing game and we didn't have any other plan. We didn't play with enough width.
We need to get back to normal quickly on Saturday. If they start like they played yesterday the season will turn to dust very quickly.

At least I didn't waste as much money as United fans yesterday.

2nd goal sounded phenomenal. What was all the heckling of Perry about?

He squandered a couple of chances when he decided to take on too many players rather than pass to unmarked teammates. Didn't go down too well with us fans.  He did make some decent flick ons as well though.

When I came on here I thought we had lost 4 - 0

Come on. Get a grip. Normal service on Tuesday.

To the east of North Ferriby FC is this.

I'm intrigued. It looks like a golf driving range but it' only as wide as the pitch.
No idea what that funny bit at the top is.

Anybody got any ideas?

They've also got County as joint favourites even though they've only signed four players

Waste of money. When did Moss Lane last have puddles on it.

Reality check. Who was the top Alty scorer for the last two seasons? I hope he doesn't read this board.

Yes but it still leaves an empty feeling in your stomach. Or at least it does for me.

Good luck to Duncan. Hope they teach him how to defend as well as attack. For me he always stood off the opposition too much so if they can get that sorted out his future is going to be very bright.

Wasn't there once a sugar daddy called Chequers?

We can beat them. We just need to get our heads sorted out. They beat us mentally. Came on to the field and had a team hug and from the kickoff hoofed the ball out of touch as close as poss to our goalline. Immediate pressure.

By contrast we were stood around before the kick off trying to keep warm and applauding the travelling support.

We were  out psyched. We need to get that sorted for next time.

We did the first ever alty team hug I have seen before the kick off?

I didn't see the home game. i was marooned in Aberdeen on a plane that broke down.i am sure it was psycological rather than down to ability
