Following a pitch inspection at 10am, today's match at Buxton, has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
However, the Reserves are at home at 2pm at Egerton Sports Club, Knutsford, against Ashton Town in the The Hallmark Security Cheshire Football League Premier Division and that match is ON as it is on a 3G pitch. A number of the first team squad will now be playing & spectators are welcome.
Egerton Sports Club's contact details are here:-

Would be interesting to know who if anyone of the 1st team squad played - the Cheshire League website gives the final score as 1-5.

Hopefully no defenders

Amis, Miller and Palma

Amis, Miller and Palma
Looks like it might as well have been Emerson, Lake and Palma ...
-
The team (with one or two unknowns) was:
1 Andrew Jones
2 Darren Sheridan
3 Tom Westall
4 - Clarke
5 loanee from Wigan Athletic
6Callum Jones
7 Darius Palma
8 another loanee from Wigan Athletic
9 Josh Amis
10 Rhain Davis
11 Sean Miller
Max Pouncey and two other subs were used.
Very comfortable win for mid-table Ashton who took full advantage of any mistakes by the Altrincham defence.
I didn't spot him myself but I believe Phil Parkinson was present, at least in the first half. I am not sure what he would have made of it, although I don't suppose it was good.
Surprisingly nice set up at Egerton, I thought, although there is no cover apart from two gazebos in the place of dugouts.

Why do our reserves have a loanee from Wigan??

I suppose it gives us a chance to play possibly more skilful players while giving the young players from Wigan's Academy a chance to play adult football. It is strange though that they don't choose a more local first team like Ashton Town, for example.
Incidentally, I am surprised nobody picked me up on the mistake on my team list as the right back was actually Harry Sheridan and not the former Barrow manager. :o Number 4 was Tom Clarke.
You can see the two young Wigan players getting stuck in, here.
