Everyone seems to think it’s Barrow. Hartlepool also need a new boss so surely one of them two but the smart money on Barrow who have said today on Twitter that they will be announcing their new boss tomorrow.

A real shame for Halifax & I can see them falling back a bit now. Before we’d gone full time possible one Parky would have been touted for but not now.

I hope you are right, the loss of parky at this point would be catastrophic to the plan, but very alty

Yes it would be the most Alty thing ever. On the eve of battle as well.

Oh good for him. He's a lovely bloke, and seems to have done well at places where he has been (I seem to remember he had a coaching role at Altrincham briefly) and I think he deserves his chance.

I did notice that Parky had been listed on a Courier article amongst managers Halifax should look at (albeit at #7 on the list).

Clearly they see value in aiming to carry on the same project, rather than bring in someone who would rip everything up and start again.

Also, Chorley have opted to do the same thing by promoting Andy Preece (who has a decent track record in his own right) at Chorley to replace Jamie Vermiglio who has gone to Buxton.

Quite an ambitious appointment by Buxton, as to be expected really.
