Released following a request, aparrently joining Leek Town again it says on the website.
-
is this some sort of sick joke?
-
...WHY!???
Gutted. Good luck, then... :-\
-
for fecks sake that can't be right?? Leek????
-
WTF.
One presumes its for personal or work reasons

has to be one of those because unless he sees something I don't it can't be footy related.

So :- Who on earth is going to play CM?!?!

Connors??
Summerskill?

I don't think it will be financial, so
Has he jumped before he was pushed?
Does he not like the manager?
Is it simply to play and train nearer home?
Seems a strange move after waiting so long to get a run in the team.We can only assume we will have midfielders set to join the club seeing as so many have gone recently, Lee said it's a work in progress, so whatever will be will be

I pretend you didn't say that second one!!!
-
Ls needs to sign two central midfielders asap as we have none either that or no points over xmas I fear good luck ant

I'm quite gutted to see this. All the best Ant, a good player at this level. It was said a few times last season when he was out of side that we didn't look the same, as he did a job without being noticed.
It does free up a little bit more of the budget, so there is room to manoeuvre, though this may happen after the Droylsden games. Could go 4-3-3 with Lynch, Lawrie and Clee midfield and Twiss,Reeves and Redshaw. Only problem then is you have little options on the bench!!
-
Worrying as we already desperately needed one CM... LS must have a masterplan to let him go though... surely?
-
He requested to leave so nothing more to say, a good player who never showed his full potential, onwards
-
From official site
It is with regret that Altrincham FC announces that, following a request from the player, Anthony Danylyk (right) has been released by the Club. It is believed he is returning to Leek Town, the club at which he began his career. We wish Anthony all the best in his future career and thank him for his three and a half years' service at Moss Lane.
Anthony, who has captained the side several times this season, made 130+21 appearances for the club, scoring three goals. He joined Leek Town in March 2002 and joined Altrincham on 8 June 2008. He started his career at Stoke City before being released and signing for Stone Dominoes. Anthony made his Alty league debut as a used substitute on 9 August 2008 and soon made a good impression as a ball-winning central midfielder. This season he has started every league game, except one for which he was suspended.
-
Well this is typical, are the wages that similar at leek that he's tempted to go back there?
Players seemed to have desire to play for us when we were in the bsp, now its as if that has vanished with the bsn
-
Maybe they all dislike the management team? It seems to me like he may have lost the dressing room which is a big worry! Good luck Anthony.
-
Or we wanted change, and change brings about its own casulties, do we really want to keep a player who doesn't want to stay?
-

That would be somewhat absent minded!
-
Get Conners signed please. I think Lynch and Conners will be a lot better centre mid then Dens and Anthony in this league. Good luck to Anthony, always got stuck in and gave 100 per cent
-
It'll be the same as Robbie Lawton I'd guess. Don't think he is on a contract, club puts in seven days notice, player gets informed and decides if he wants to go or not.
I would also guess Lee Sinnot said the same as he said to Robbie Lawton, I'd like you to stay but if you want to go thats up to you.
Sounds to me like another one taking the easy route out.
A competent Conference North midfielder who could raise his game on some days and be poor on others but always gave 100% for us but (sorry if this is harsh) its one less of last seasons relegation side and guarantees us a fresh face.
If he doesn't want to play for Altrincham then thats his choice. You can't make an omelette without cracking a few eggs.
-
From the leek site, sounds like they put in 7 days notice in - Mentions a central midfielder from a higher league
-
Very sorry to hear that Antony has decided to join Leek- maybe he was a bit pissed off that he didnt get the captains armband when Robbie Lawton left - Lets hope Lee has someone in mind to replace him - I thought he was a decent player who always gave of his best
Good luck Ant.
-

Best forget Steve for the time being, he is booked for a further operation to hopefully cure his fitness issues.

Are we likely to see any central midfield players signed in time for the next game as we are thin on the ground now?

Started every game this season bar Solihull?
-
We'd better get a couple of loanees in rapid, because having Lynch as our midfield engine raises serious doubts in my mind.
-
I'll pray for rain and frost for the next 2/3 wks so we can sought ourselves out.
Can't believe he palyed and got the GH bollockings, was left on the bench for a long period by KM, then leaves unders LS.
Good luck AD

I'm sure potential new recruits will have been training with us Phil, I thought some of those offered terms at the start of the season were only offered short term deals until around Christmas time so the manager could see them for himself. We wouldn't just give people our blessing to go if it left us with nobody. IF Anthony and robbie were only on deals that ran until Christmas for example, you can see why they would opt for the security of an offer while it's on the table rather than take their chances if released next week.Nobody would have batted an eyelid if many if those offered terms this season had gone in the summer

Surely if he disliked the management team he'd have gone before now?
Why do folk seem so keen to promulgate these disruptive theories I wonder?
Bear in mind that he hasn't long back become a father, maybe he feels that he'd like to be home a bit more / bit earlier and I for one wouldn't blame him. I know a good number of folk who have missed out on their kids because of work and / or football and regretted it afterwards

It's obvious.
Twiss will drop back into a central midfield 'playmaker' role, swiftly evolving into a hybrid of Jan Molby and Tony Kelly.
-
Sorry to see Anthony go........ a strange decision in my view....but as a club we move on........ best wishes to him
-
All the best Ant.
-
Another of our links with better times has gone.
Can't believe he only scored three goals, but at least I saw one of them, in that classic game v Gateshead a couple of years ago.

he was also a link with our relegation last season and our indifferent start this season. A decent midfielder and no animosity towards him at all, but when we are reminiscing on here in a few years I doubt he will get much a name check.

<slaps head and goes aaahhhhhh of course!!!> good luck Ant...but we move on again.....c'mon folks it's clearly his choice, doesn't want to play for alty anymore sadly and scored 3 goals in 120 apps......Lee wants to manage Alty and will move twiss back into a free scoring midfielder......I know where the support should be.
-

The water has always tasted odd on the wrong side of the Pennies
-
Cant believe this, I go away for a holiday and we lose Danylyk AND Densmore without even playing!
Best wishes Anthony for the future, you always put in 100% for Alty.
On a more positive note, I havent missed any games yet, its 36 Deg C here every day, just caught a 30lb Dhufish found some fabulous new pies called Dunsborough Pies,...and having a ball,......guess where I am you miserable cold lot ?
-
Surfers paradise? A bit more glamourous than droylsden
-
I find it a little difficult to believe a unibond league outfit would put 7 days approach in on a regular first team starter at altrincham without any insight to a players circumstances.......
-

Close, other side in Perth WA.
-
Good luck Anthony, been a good servant to Alty.
Can't say I'm either shocked or too bothered. As said elsewhere the lad never quite fulfilled his potential. We can move on, and without mentioning Connors every other post.
-

Quite. He's obviously spoken to Leek first. I firmly believe that this has a lot to do with domestic circumstances, coupled with Anthony's relisation that he's gone as far up the ladder as he could, and he perhaps wants to enjoy his football at a lower level.
He was a favourite of mine as many of you know, and I'm sorry he's gone, but I respect his decision (and understand it if I'm on the right lines) and wish him every success.

Agreed
-
I really am sorry Anthony has made this decision but fully understand his reasons, I agree with both Taxi Phil and also Phil the Ref, which is the change in his domestic circumstances.
I wish Anthony all the best in his future career, and as a fairly new father! Thanks a lot for the contribution over the last 3 and a half years Anthony. Liked the sound of you when you were a new signing, and very sorry to see you go, onjoyed watching you break up the other oppositions play, which you had down to a fine art and I felt was your best asset to the team.
Good Luck and Thanks!!

Is it? How do you know that? The new child theory was just a bit of speculation by Phil the Ref (in a post in which he was criticising people for speculating).
I hope it is the reason because the alternatives are rather worrying. I also hope LS will offer an explanation in his next interview because on the surface it's a baffling turn of events.
Good luck to Anthony in his future career.
-
I don't really see where the conspiracy theories are coming from. If he'd asked to be transfer listed then maybe he'd fell out with someone or seen his arse about not being captain.
I know from what I have heard in the past that he wasn't mad keen on coming from Stoke three times a week.
For me he has just decided he'd like to play football near his house and he clearly isn't really arsed what level its at with Leek being bottom half of the Evo Stick North. Having kids can suddenly change what important to people.
Who knows, Leek might have pushed the boat and and offered him the same money as us?
-
rats and ship come to mind,I was shocked to read this, but have not been able to get on the forum since seeing it

I think we should keep the same players forever and be totally horrified if anyone leaves for another club.

Not this season

To put the record straight and clear up any misconceptions the target of what you term my criticism was not speculation, more the frequent instigation of conspiracy theories where no such conspiracy exists

But people suggesting that Danylyk might not have been happy at the club is hardly 'the moon landings were faked', is it? It's just one possible explanation for why he's left, just as him wanting to spend more time with his young family is.
As far as I can tell, none of us as yet has any idea of why he asked to leave and I don't think any of the theories that has been put forward is more conspiratorial than the others.

I'm off to check the grassy knoll.

But Mark, if nobody leaves then we can't link them with a return???

;D ;D ;D
-
I would put good money on that, in a few weeks time IF we have dropped a few points then certain forumites will be hoping we resign Anthony - just like 75% of others players that have left for different clubs over the last few seasons.
Look forward not back - 2012 is on the doorstep - I just hope (footballing wise) its better than the last couple of years
-
Anthony was on a month by month contract, the club didnt offer him a new contract this month.
-

This is what I mean by conspiracy theories
Anthony asked to be released and was released. It was HIS choice to go for reasons which are personal and, I believe, have nothing to do with the current management, level of football, team mates, colour of dressing room door, quality of pies or being offered a new deal

Phil - your main task in life is to nip over to the pop side at HT each game and let us know the attendance whilst I berate the referee and question his decision making ;) :D
-
ok i shouldn't tell you this, it is classified as top secret, but..... Anthony was part of a secret cult that worshiped horses with the heads of monkeys. apparently, one ritual involved them drinking the blood of a farmers daughter when jupiter is aligned to mars and the moon in in waxing. Lee found out about this after confronting Tony, both agreed it would be mutually beneficial for the team not to have a blood drinking horse worshiper being connected with Altrincham in any way.
THIS IS NOT A CONSPIRACY THEORY, it is the truth i heard if my bin mans, sister, who plays leftback for a team that Cavel Coo use to play for.

It'd be a bit pointless for someone from Staffordshire to drink the blood of a farmer's daughter. A pint of Marston's Merrie Monk would be difficult to tell apart. Don't even start me on the beer in Tamworth.....

His summer departure, or recent return from loan? Could be either.
Don't get us started on Graham Bennett leaving in 1986 either.
