Rumour has it he's took a full time job @ Everton coaching the kids so can't play for us.
Devod.
-
Would explain the "*deep breath* giant leap of faith." comment
-
Ah christ. Does NOT help with preparations! I think he had a lot to offer, personally.
-
Not a loss, he was highly overated one pace player - not good enough
However we do have a problem with numbers now!

He was the only ball player we had in the middle. He was the best since Kearney.
In a nut shell we're fooked.

Just posted a picture of boots hung up.. captaioned " Bittersweet day, end of an era onwards"

Both views are a little extreme in my opinion.
If he has gone from what I saw he was a competent player but nothing special.
They'll be other midfielders, he wasn't Zidane.

It's more disruption of the squad... Bringing in a replacement will take time to gel into a squad
-
Why do we always seem to get one player from the seasonal team photo who leaves before the start ???
-
He's not irreplaceable but the timing is awful and doesn't leave us much time to find a replacement.
-
Lewis chalmers anyone ?

Lewis chalmers anyone ?
Would be the perfect replacement, but don't see him dropping to BSN level to be honest.
-
Whatever the circumstances I'd like to wish Scott all the best in his (new) career.
If, as it seems, it's a "full time" job that will bring in regular money then I, for one, don't blame him for taking the decision to end what is always going to be a time restricted career as a player to move into a career which can last well past hang your boots up time

Has he got a club at present? Surely BSN is better than nothing at all?
-
Went back to macc on trial not sure if he's signed for them though
-
Wasn't in the squad on Friday night v Hereford
-
Densmore leather at rb. Connors ?
-
Connors ?? Why not try Crowell???
-
It's a great pity to lose a player with the ability to play with his head up - but if he's being offered a full-time job in the present economic circumstances he'd be mad not to take it. Good luck, Scott.
My one fear is that someone might think of Densmore as a replacement in midfield - in my view that would be a grave mistake. Leave him at right-back and don't give him licence to roam - too often in such circumstances he turns into a headless chicken.
Here's wishing the management a peaceful week in which to prepare the squad for the first real game.

Spot on.

While we're at it, could we not try and shoehorn Senior into midfield????

Why would we want our goal coaching man in midfield?

Since it's Everton who've pinched him, I'm phelan blue.

This has "scotta" stop

Decent touch and a nice passer of the ball - didn't fancy him winning many 50/50's though. The biggest problem here is timing. If Everton had offered him the job in June it wouldn't have been a problem to find a replacement, but a week before the start of the season, I can't see us snapping anyone up to replace him.
Baring this in mind, who from out current squad can replace him as our "cultured midfielder"? Densmore would probably be the number one candidate from the current squad, however I still feel he is best at Right Back. Simon Richman could probably do a job in there however he did seem to give the ball away a lot last season. I'm yet to see Lacey play so I can't comment on the possibility of him partnering Carl Rogers in midfield.
Anyway, best of luck to Scott - working as a youth coach for any premiership club is a wonderful opportunity and I can have to qualms with him leaving.
-
where he decides to go has scott nothing to do with us really.
-
I think its a PHELANthropic decision to help out with the kids !
