....for Nottingham Forest ! I didn't see that one coming at all. Tremendous good luck to him !
-
What a fantastic opportunity for the lad. Hope he does well. A shame we never really got to see him, but National League football would have been far too early for him. By all accounts he was superb at Trafford and Stalybridge.
-
Indeed all the best, hope he does really well
-
Perhaps sounding mercenary but do we get anything for him? perhaps an enticing sell on?

Undisclosed fee but I would be surprised if the club hasn't included a sell-on too.
-
Good luck Lewis! Shame we didn't see more of you in Alty colours.

As oppose to the lad we signed from the Pub Cup and City of Liverpool.
Or the lad who spend the remainder of the season playing reserve football
-
Well done Lewis . Grab this opportunity with both hands.
-
Good luck to Lewis. I hadn't seen that coming, but he has every chance of establishing an excellent career. I did see him play for Stalybridge last season and he looked pretty decent.
We have had the odd player such as Steve Johnson and Frank Carrodus, who have gone on to have a long Football League career after appearing in only one or two games for us, and I am pretty sure there were others further back in Terry Rowley's series of Alty legends, so hopefully he will follow in their footsteps.
-
All the very best of British Lewis.
I look forward to following his career and, hopefully, seeing success.
-
One big leap! SBL :)

I take your point, but Jamie Mc was no stranger to grafting in mens football and Piggott had the physical attributes. Lewis Salmon would have been eaten alive imo.

Absolutely Andrew. It would have been unthinkable to play the boy, in this, in our formation.
Forest have taken a punt on young lad and good luck to them and Lewis
-
My mate who is a Forest fan tells me they are as desperate as us to find a goal scorer
-
Congrats to Lewis.

A lad who was scoring for fun in lower league in men's football, he's not been playing Sunday League.
-
Sounds like Dinanga. Did it with matlock and Telford, not so much for Stevenage, Hartlepool or Chesterfield.
Hope he can do it for us!
PS. We still need another for up top.
What's the situation with Fisayo and Tom? Suppose we'll find out later in the week when the squad numbers are given out?
Be interesting (and telling) as to who (if anyone) gets the number nine shirt.

Key point, being lower leagues. There's a world of difference between NL and NLN. Not sure how effective Hulme would have been should he have stayed.

I think he thought something similar. Especially as a part timer on less money than Fylde offered.

Werent we also trialling an experienced forward (clayton i think) at the time so knew wasnt always going to be first choice, double whammy for us that the trial didnt work out

You could be right.
Max Clayton signed for us on the eve of my 70th birthday, 20 August 2020 though and JH had left by then I'm sure. He'd have probably have been training with us though.

Hulme's signing was announced by Fylde on 2nd October, so some 6 weeks later.

Sorry. I stand corrected! 😉 💕 👍
