Droylsden next saturday
« on: February 02, 2008, 09:44:39 PM »

Considering how near it is, and the importance of the game, Id been disappointed if we didnt have 400 at the butchers arms next saturday. For a game of similar stature 300 made the trip to tamworth last season. In an ideal world we'd be hoping to see 600 on the away end next week, do your best to make the short trip to droylsden, be it by coach, car, tram and bus or even taxi, even if you dont normally do away games, this is one not to be missed.

First and foremost, please support the official club coach(es) to this game if you can.

However, if you intend to make your own way, bus/train details are as follows:

By Train

The nearest train stations are: Ashton-Under-Lyne, which is 2.5 miles from Droylsden, Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria which are both 4.5 miles from us.

By Bus

Both Manchester train stations are a few minutes walk from Piccadilly Bus Station. From Piccadilly bus station you can catch bus numbers 231-235 getting off at the corner of Medlock Street/Market Street and the Ground is 2 mins walk away. Taking bus numbers 216, 236 & 237, get off at the corner of Manchester Road/Market Street and the Ground is also 2 mins walk away. Both routes take roughly 20/25 minutes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The bus station in Ashton-Under-Lyne is a few mins away from train station. From there you can catch bus numbers 232,233,169 & 168 getting off at the corner of Medlock Street/Market Street and the Ground is 2 mins walk. Taking bus numbers 216,236 & 237, get off at the corner of Manchester Road/Market Street which is also 2 mins walk to the Ground. Both routes take 10/15 minutes.

They cant even get their own info correct, the nearest station is "Fairfield" there is a train every hour that stops there, departing from piccadilly, its s hitt walk though, if your doing public transport, then tram to town then bus is the best bet.

The ticket price will probably be about the same as ours, can't see it being any higher.

Northwich is 20mins away, is Droylsden about the same, and if it is about the same, i would say the travelling support will probably be the same as vic on nyd

I'd say we'll take more because of no family arrangements and the fact that alty are on the up.
