The media are abit like alot of man united fans think the world didnt start before the premier leauge
For me, the Premier League marked an end, rather than a beginning. I'm old enough to remember Alf Ramsey taking Ipswich straight from promotion to be champions in 1962. In these days of ridiculous money, squabbles over TV rights, and teams without a single British player, you would never remotely envisage seeing that sort of thing again. And that, for me, is not good.

Couldn't agree more. Some changes have been for the better but the English game is less of a meritocracy than ever.

It would have been more of a shock if Fullam had beaten Man U.

Full time 3-2. Liverpool deserved to lose this, if only because Oldham had more guts and application. Matt Smith, who scored the first two, has a portfolio that includes Redditch United, Droylsden, and Solihull Moors ! If you get to see the highlights, watch for  Oldham's third, a header by Man.City loanee Wanama - a real top drawer goal worthy of winning any match.

Bill Edgar in the Times this morning :

"Of the two clubs in action at Carrow Road, it was Luton Town who have reached an FA Cup Final (1959), and who have most recently won a domestic trophy (1988 League Cup). Since 1984 they have had more players capped by England (4-3), and as recently as 2005-6 only one point separated the two clubs in the League table. Norwich 0 Luton 1 just doesn't sound like a shock."

Pity he spoiled it by going on to mention Sutton United......
