Now I'm coming back to the land of the living after the shocking events of last weekend, I thought I would share some bits of a chat myself and a few of the lads had with Kenny outside the race night. I'm not going into every word he said but just wanted to share some of it for those who may not know what he like or how he felt.
He was totally gutted at that we had gone down and kept on saying he had failed as it was his job to keep us up. We pointed out to him that really to get to the last day was an achievement and although we went down he hadn't failed us at all.
He said all the things that we said and was as baffled as us as to why the players just didn't perform when it mattered. The preparations were done, the homework was done and the players knew their jobs. We told him our opinions on players and the rights and wrongs and he agreed with most of them and told us why we were wrong on a few as well.
The way he talked about just wanting to get on the pitch and show people how to do things, how to chase every ball and fight for everything just made it more frustrating that the players could not heed his advice.
I really hope we can keep him on next season. Of course he made some mistakes along the way.
However I believe someone with the fight and love of the club he has can only be a good thing.
If he goes I thank him for trying his damned hardest.
If he stays then I think we'll see a different spirit next year from the start.
