Home is the main thing & by playing ‘Fax also guaranteed it should be a sell out with a much larger away support than ‘Heed or Barnet would have bought. Both sides will fancy their chances & difficult to read too much into the Christmas fixtures with the number of personnel changes we’ve had since then. A lot for the club to do off the pitch in the build up so patience to go with the inevitable giddiness & hundreds of enquiries they’ll be fielding in the run up. I’d anticipate a 5k sell out crowed with Fax getting about 1000 tickets.

Makes up for losing the Notts County game to (probably) a Tues

Agreed. By the time we get Notts C at home on suspect Wrexham may have pulled clear so likely to be a bit of a dead rubber for them with second completely secure and not a huge Tuesday night away support.

I'm not keen on us getting a really big gate.

You have a fair point.......can also bring in plenty of local knobbers who have no interest in the result.

But I guess pound notes will always win the day....it is a business that needs to maximise revenue

What happens with the gate money? Do we have to split it 50/50 (less reasonable expenses) with Halifax or do we get to keep it all for ourselves?

If it is the latter we could be looking at a decent payday.

When did the home team ever get to keep the receipts of any one-off cup game in this country?

We're already doing pretty well on prize money. The quarter final netted us £12,500 (£7,500 for winning the QF plus the £5,000 we're guaranteed in the SF just for turning up).

Ironically, in purely prize money terms, winning the SF is worth more than winning the final. A SF victory nets you £40,000 (the additional £10,000 the SF winners receive on top of the £5,000 you're guaranteed, plus the £30,000 guaranteed in the final). In contrast, while the final winners receive a cheque for £60,000 that's actually 'only' an additional £30,000 on the £30,000 you receive just for turning up.

You are, of course, correct and I fear the results of a dementia test that I took at the hospital last Friday.

If, and if we manage to win the final, the club will have made upwards of £100,000.00 without counting the gate money and ancillary earnings.

Also correct me if I'm wrong, but I think a small cut goes to the FA of the attendance revenue, plus some to the away team, including us when we are away such as York and Bracknell.
