Halifax situation not on the AGM Agenda

From Halifax Courier site:

Halifax Town crisis 'not on agenda' for Conference meeting

« Previous « PreviousNext » Next »View GalleryHALIFAX Town's Blue Square Premier future will not be discussed at the Conference's annual meeting in Blackpool tomorrow.

And the saga of where the club will play in the 2008-09 campaign is set to rumble on.

Conference chief executive Dennis Strudwick has confirmed to the Courier that Town have appealed to the Football Association over the league's decision that, because of their financial position, they were no longer eligible to be members.

As a result, the club's position will not be on the agenda tomorrow.

"A solicitor has lodged an appeal with the Football Association on behalf of the administrator," Mr Strudwick confirmed.

"There cannot be any discussion at the meeting about it because it is subjudice."

An FA spokesman confirmed no date has been set for Town's appeal.

Any idea how succesful an Halifax appeal would be?

So how can everything be finalised then ? I thought that was the whole point of a AGM ? Maybe Halifax won't be discused but WE will ? ie Altrincham are/are not in the BSP next season

From personal opinion I would say it will be fruitless.

The meeting will ratify the league setup tomorrow and that will be that.  The rules are clear, if you are in admin on the first Saturday on May (i think)  then you are out.  Halifax still have no agreement on the CVA so why is it any different now?

What would be in their favour?  No movement since the the CVA deadline, some in fighting and disagreements, resignations from supporters trusts, no clear lines of communication, very little word on their plans.  No progress on £2 million of debt.

They should concentrate on uniting the support, building a new club and getting back up again, stronger and more determined than ever.

Sorry if this seems harsh but to me its the facts.

Im glad im not the only one who was wondering when they intended to tackle the 2 million quid they still owe instead of trying to maintain a league status they clearly can't afford or organise.

The appeal is just a long-shot at a lifeline. The Conf have to expel them under their rules (or they could be sued by others). However the FA could reinstate them to, say, the Conf N.
