I'm not a technical expert, but sometimes web pages open like this when I have a very poor internet connection. Check your connection, and try holding the shift key down on your keyboard whilst clicking the refresh button on your browser.

It's a problem with the style sheet on the server side

My page hasn't been as it was for months, no colour and just topics listed and posts. Very clunky but manage.

For some reason, the forum looks and works fine for me on Safari but not on Google Chrome.

I have had to use Firefox to get the fans forum as it was,in chrome or edge its just a white background with script on it,not very good at all.It must be something that google or microsoft have done.

If I view the forum through Chrome on my phone, it displays in colour. If I view it through Chrome on my laptop it displays in a more "plain" format. Either way, it doesn't cause me any issues, but it is a bit strange. :)

Chrome misbehaves for me.
Firefox works normally.

Mine has been broken for months and I've had a good moan about it. Miraculously, as of this evening, it is now working properly much to my surprise, A big thank you to whoever did what.

It's all because the site doesn't have an SSL certificate. Chrome blocks insecure assets to protect you (unsecured files can possibly pass virus etc. Via middleman attack)

The solution starts there and probably also includes the cookie issue that makes the site think you aren't logged in even though you are still.

Again, I'm happy to help fix it if Gary wants me to.

I spoke too soon. It's not working for me this morning although it did briefly last night

I clear all the cookies as fast as Mrs S buys them. Always have done. 😉😂😂

I cleared all my cookies and my history and it made no difference other than losing all my saved passwords.

Totally fuuked up. Someone needs to get a grip because the forum is slowly going down the pan

A bit harsh that, given that this forum costs us absolutely nothing to use and is unofficial. Thank you to the person who keeps it online.

Bear in mind also that the number of people posting here has slumped over time, even when our crowds and fan base has grown.

We're just getting older. We're still here! 😉
Thanks so much for creating and sustaining it. It's a godsend to non locals 👍

PS. I think most of you youngsters (the under 70s) are using Facebook and Twitter but I've never got into that. 😊

I use both this and Facebook. Numbers have dropped on here but it is still an asset to the club and as Bob said free to use, & kindly built and maintained by Gary.
The website has always worked fine for me, red borders et al, I use Safari

Here's a solution for you guys.

Install a chrome plugin such as stylebot - https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/stylebot/oiaejidbmkiecgbjeifoejpgmdaleoha

From there open the options and add a new style for altyfans.co.uk. Copy and paste in full the contents of this page - http://www.altyfans.co.uk/Themes/red_theme_v2_2/css/index.css?RC4

Save.

This should then mean that the forum is at least forced to have some styling (even if the site is not back completely as expected)

Hardly fair to complain about a free service that is now kept alive by a bloke who has no interest in Alty due to not living in the area anymore. Pretty decent Gary even does that tbf.
